I came in to purchase a few books and when I wanted to be rung up I had to hear first about their membership plan. I had to refuse that multiple times before the cashier asked if I wanted 3 magazines shipped to me at no charge. I thought that it was for how upset I was as a sorry for how she treated me. I initially obliged and gave my address information, but then she tried to have me sign something stating that I would be charged in 2 months. I didn't sign the paperwork and refused once I realized the bait and switch scam. It pissed me off even more that she would try that sleazy used car dealership tactic. I said I opt out of this and take me off of your list which she then threw her hands up and shouted "I'm going on break right now". I was pretty sure she wasn't going to take me off of the list so I monitored my emails and bank accounts. Sure enough, she processed them all without my signature which I thought was a crime. I called the store to complain, but they didn't think it was a big deal and offered to take me off of the list. Due to the nonchalant nature of the "manager", I don't believe she would take care of it so I'm filing this complaint.
