    We purchased a mini split AC system from comfort side for a remodel project in our home. Immediately after having the system professionally installed, we discovered that there was an issue with one of the systems. A blower wheel was out of balance which causes vibration and noise. Our hvac tech recommended having it replaced or the system would likely fail prematurely. After hours on the phone with comfortside tech support they said they would send us a new blower wheel but we would be required to pay shipping. I dont think we should be required to pay anything to remedy defective products, but we paid the $25 to have the part shipped. When we received the package, comfort side shipped us the wrong part. We called customer support again and they now want more money to ship the correct part. We also have issues with the thermostats that their customer support has not been able to help us with and have provided no solutions to our problem.

    I am a licensed HVAC mechanic and have been for over 30 years. I have installed dozens of mini split units and installed a Cooper and Hunter 19000 btu unit in White Stone Va. on July 3rd. as of Oct 27th the compressor is completely dead. Cooper and Hunter has refused to honor the 7 year warranty and want me to BUY ANOTHER COMPRESSOR FROM THEM!!!! Why in hell would I do that? THEY SELL JUNK AND ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH!! Taking them to Small Claims court filed a complaint with The Federal Trade Commission, Pissed consumer, The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the State Attorney General. THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WORST RIP OFF I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!

    I am writing in response to the complaint filed by *** *** regarding the installation of a Cooper and Hunter 19000 BTU unit in White Stone, VA, and the subsequent issues they have encountered with the product.
    We understand that the customer's complaint revolves around the malfunctioning compressor, We have declined to honor the 7-year warranty due to the system not installed to spec.The unit should be installed with 240 volts and below as its a 230 volt system. He has 245 volts to the unit at the time of troubleshooting. When i had him check the compressor and pressures, after confirming the Inverter board had resistance values out of range he said that the unit held no charge. Without the presence of a charge that indicates a leak within the unit which he needs to find and fix. We also explained to *** that this should have been pressured tested during the install to prevent any leaks. Our units come pre-charged with refrigerant so its less likely it had a leak prior. With the lack of charge and voltage out of what the system is designed to handle we determined this is not covered under the manufactures warranty.
    We respect *** ***'s right to take the matter to Small Claims court and file complaints with various agencies.
