      In the past five years I have purchased annd installed about 50 DIY units from this company for friends and family. All of them have done wonderfully. With that being said, I purchased one last week and installed it for a friend and it ran fine for about six hours and then the fan stopped working on heat mode. I tried doing some basic troubleshooting and could not get it figured out so I called an **** company to come out and take a look at it. The **** tech said that the flare on one of the line sets was lobsided and he had to cut the flare out and redo it and because of that leak it had lost all the refrigerant, which in total cost me around $700 along with cost of his labor. I called Parker Davis HVAC international to see if they would possibly reimburse me since it was a factory defect and they said they would not. I understand when you are selling DIY kits that the homeowner can make a mistake, but in this case it was their fault, and I think that they should have worked with me on reimbursement. Needless to say, I will not be buying any more units from them or recommending them to anybody. I am disappointed to say the least. What good is your product if you do not stand behind your workmanship?

      Let's make this clear. ******************** had purchased a single unit in the past 30 years from our company, not 50 sets as claimed. Gentlemen has zero experience and training in installation of this equipment.He misaligned the flare connection while attaching the line sets and lost the refrigerant. The instructions clearly state to check for leaks carefully before releasing the refrigerant to prevent loss. Standard installation procedures were not followed properly by checking for leaks before releasing refrigerant and before system startup. This is the most basic part of any installation. If this was done, the leaking connection could have been discovered and leak could have been prevented. Also, the installer lacked the ability to "figure out" (as he puts it) a simple refrigerant leak issue. He neglected to contact our technical support to assist him to "figure out". He neglected to ask our team to assist by sending replacement refrigerant free of charge. Instead he chose, on his own, to spend more than what he paid for the entire system set, for someone to come and charge 50 dollars worth of refrigerant. And he claims full reimbursement of 700 dollars which is more than the cost of his purchased system. Our warranty covers all defects in any of the components, by replacing the defective component during the first 5 years. Our warranty does not cover the refrigerant losses caused my improper installation by improperly trained people, whom neglect to follow instructions and neglect to ask for support from our technical support engineering teams that are available to assist with any questions and sending any parts or components deemed to be defective.       I bought a heat pump from this company and it has been a terrible experience all around. It has control issues and technical support will not help me diagnose the problem. They made me buy an indoor control board for $130 and it didnt fix the problem. They will not give me a refund even though the problem is not fixed. They will not return my calls or emails.
