I hired this company to do decorative concrete coating, to my back patio and front porch along with laying tile in my kitchen. I paid 50% up front. That was November 28, 2021. He had his son in law start in the kitchen and while taking off the baseboards he put a hole in my wall. When he was almost done, he asked for the balance to "pay his guys" When I hesitated he promised to come and finish the next day. That was December 11, 2021 and he never came back to finish. I have texted and called and he has excuses and excuses but no work. The last promise made was he was to be here this past Monday to finish but no show or call again. At this point I feel he isn't ever going to finish what he started and feel I am due money back so I can fix his mistakes.

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/02/10) */ On November 28, 2021 *********** *******, AMBR for SheaSide LLC met with ***** ***** to provide an estimate for services to include: demo of 50 square feet of tile -exterior front entry; pressure wash, crack repair and base coat (back deck) and seal 517 square feet with a choice of 3 colors with all materials included for a total estimate of one thousand seven hundred and thirteen dollars ($1,713.00). The second part of the estimate included demo of dine-in kitchen floor tiles and the removal and re-installation of baseboards with homeowner supplying materials for a total estimate of seven hundred twenty-five dollars ($725.00). The total estimate of both jobs was two thousand four hundred thirty-eight dollars ($2,438.00). A deposit of one thousand two hundred nineteen dollars ($1,219.00) was received on November 28, 2021 along with a contractor's invoice signed by ***** *****. Work commenced on December 7, 2021 which included pressure washing and prep work. Over the next several days the 517 square foot back deck was demoed, crack was filled and acrylic was applied to the 50 square feet of the exterior front entry. After the demolition a gap or void, due to the removal of the mud-set tile, not due to any fault of SheaSide LLC , was observed between the sidewalk and front porch that required additional repair which was filled with acrylic for no additional charge. ***** ***** indicated that she did not like the acrylic banding gap repair, so *********** ******* filled the void with concrete patch for no additional charge. The kitchen tile removal and replacement as well as the baseboard removal and replacement was occurring during the same time period. During the removal of the old baseboards a hole in the drywall occurred which required patching and repainting. During this time period ***** ***** also contracted with another company to have the exterior of her house painted and when our partner was sent to the house it was actively being painted by the other company so our partner did not work on the project that day. Once kitchen floor tile was demoed, there was an additional laminate floor in place which required additional demolition increasing the cost of her job. ***** ***** stated that she had concerns about foundation issues and was insistent on waterproofing the floor (after the demolition of the second layer which was the laminate flooring) prior to laying the new kitchen tile. This was completed for an additional cost because the scope of work was increased due to additional flooring demo and her request for waterproofing the dine-in kitchen foundation prior to laying her new floor tile. On December 11, final payment was requested and received with the expectation to return the following day to complete the approximately one hour's worth of work to complete the job which included sanding and painting the dry wall patch, additionally filling the gap with concrete patch due to lanai runoff and skim coating the concrete patch on the exterior. Due to misting weather and the need to complete additional skim coating to finish the concrete patch on the exterior, the work was postponed awaiting favorable weather. *********** ******* returned to basecoat the front exterior entry step which needed to be done in stages due to the swing of the entry door. The following day he returned to hand stone and paint it. During this workday *********** ******* also offered to patch and paint exterior wall located on each side of her garage free of charge if she supplied the paint, which she agreed to and stated "That's so nice. Thank you." *********** took a paint sample in her presence to match her house color. This interaction occurred prior to her contracting another company to paint the exterior of her house, therefore this work did not occur. On December 18th, *********** ******* sustained a ruptured Achilles tendon that required immobilization with a cast, was unable to ambulate without the use of crutches or a wheelchair and was unable to work. This was communicated to ***** *****. Another worker was sent to skimcoat the concrete step and ***** ***** verbalized that she was unhappy with his work. *********** explained to ***** that skimcoating must be done in stages however ***** requested *********** ******* only to complete the job moving forward as noted in the snapshots of the text messaging that occurred between *********** ******* and ***** *****. *********** discussed with ***** ***** by phone that the doctor was placing him in an ambulation boot requiring one week on two crutches, one week on one crutch and would then be cleared to be mobile on the boot without the use of crutches at which time he would complete her job. *********** arrived on January 31, 2021 as agreed upon with ***** ***** after he was cleared to ambulate by his doctor on Thursday, January 27th. That weekend she posted multiple negative reviews on the Next Door app with inaccurate, misleading and false statements. *********** ******* arrived on January 31st as promised and spent approximately one hour completing her job even after she posted her negative remarks because he has integrity and takes pride in his work. Also, during this time, our business partner,******** ******, another construction specialist sustained third degree burns to his dominant hand making it difficult for him to work as well(dated pictures provided for your reference for both injuries). Photographs of all stages of work were taken throughout the process including the damage done to the finished concrete acrylic job by the contractors she hired to paint the exterior of her home. *********** ******* and SheaSide LLC take great pride in the quality of work we provide for extremely reasonable prices. *********** also takes on several pro bono jobs monthly to assist elderly homeowners who either can't afford to have needed construction work done, or who have been wronged by other contractors. He has been distressed to say the least in the behavior and reactions of ***** ***** even though we understand her frustration over the delay in the completion of her job. This has been an unfortunate series of events that delayed the completion of the remaining 5% of ***** *****'s job, however the high-quality work was completed in full on January 31, 2022. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/02/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I completely disagree with the response from the business. The dates and information provided is Inaccurate! The job still is not completed to my satisfaction. The "gap" he speakers of was brown acrylic runoff which he fully admitted was a mistake by his employee along with acrylic being dumped in my yard which he said should not have been done. Now I have a grey line across my sidewalk that Mr ******* said would look exactly like my sidewalk when it "cures" for 3 weeks. It has looked the same and is unacceptable as a repair. He also offered to at no charge pressure wash the sidewalk and driveway due to the mistake which was not done. I stand behind everything I said about this company. I am still not happy and feel he needs to repair my sidewalk where it meets my porch. I am attaching a picture of how bad it looks even when it's dark! Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2022/02/28) */ SheaSide LLC response to ***** *****'s rebuttal: The brown run off that the customer is speaking about (which SheaSide did not admit to making a mistake because no mistake was made) was in a gap which was caused by demolition which left a three-inch void between the sidewalk and porch due to the removal of mud-set tiles. In the void, SheaSide applied the same color acrylic that was applied to the porch. ***** ***** stated that she did not like it. SheaSide went back and applied a concrete patch in the void over the acrylic blend. This is a standard product used in the industry to fill voids. That is the only way to patch the sidewalk without having to fully remove her remaining sidewalk which was not part of the scope of work. The threshold under her door which was caused by the demolition of the mud-set tiles previously mentioned, which left a gap from the bottom of her door to the threshold. If the ***** ***** wishes to purchase a door sweep to close the gap between the bottom of her door and the threshold, I, (*********** *******) will be willing to install the sweep for her free of charge. I (*********** *******) offered to power wash her sidewalk and driveway, to be nice, during the time that the scope of work was going on. This was a favor that I was willing to do for a customer, however after ***** ***** defamed my character and my company's reputation on social media platforms and became adversarial, I (*********** *******) will not power wash her sidewalk or driveway as this was a favor and was not contracted within ***** *****'s scope of work. As far as disputing dates, text messages are dated as previously submitted and were not altered in any way. I would only hope that she went after the company that she hired to paint the exterior of her house which left blue paint all over the acrylic job that SheaSide LLC had already completed which can only be repaired by some one who has experience in acrylic overlay and texture utilizing the same products SheaSide LLC used. Consumer Response /* (4200, 18, 2022/03/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Mr ******* ABSOLUTELY told me his worker made a mistake letting the brown run on to the sidewalk! THAT was why he voluntarily offered to do the pressure cleaning once he made the repair! Then when I questioned the repair looking worse then the brown runoff he told me directly in his text message to me that I am attaching that the patch would match the sidewalk after it "cured". As far as a 3 inch void from the tile removal, I NEVER was made aware that this would be an issue by removing the tile. As the BUSINESS owner, he should have made me aware that removing the tile would lower the porch. Had I been told this I wouldn't have done my porch in that fashion. I am a lay person. I should have been given that information. He is a fast talker. I am not satisfied with the acrylic work either. I picked 3 colors and definitely didn't get what I paid for. I paid this company $3,288 and our "scope of work" he keeps referring to was for $2438.00 I am left with this ugly entry to my home. He never provided me an invoice for the extra money he charged me. As far as trashing him on social media, it was the only way I got a response from him! Again, I am not happy am am providing pic and text messages showing he said it would match when it cured! I told him I was unsatisfied Feb 1, 2022 by text indicating it was his worker's mistake and he did not deny it! It did not and it looks the same! I will continue to warn everyone I know that he did this to my home! Not someone I would ever recommend for anything!! He should be honest and tell the truth. As far as the door sweep to solve the issue, he NEVER offered this even when I repeatedly complained. I still want my money returned so I can fix my front porch CORRECTLY!!
