US Code Compliance completed an inaccurate "Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form" on 6-16-2022 on my house, 225 Randolph Rd, Venice, FL. In the report 4. (A) the box for "Metal connectors that do not meet the minimal conditions or requirements of B,C, or D" is checked. I spoke with the owner of US Code Compliance, James. He claimed that there were only 2 nails on the metal connectors that attach the roof to the walls. He referenced a picture taken by the inspector, it was impossible to see the nails in their picture labeled "Truss Connection". The top nail was blocked by the metal connector flipped over at the top, and the bottom nail was behind insulation. I knew from the report completed when I bought this house that there were 3 nails. I went to the exact same metal connector and took a close up picture and it was clear that there are 3 nails. I texted the pictures to James, he still claimed " I only see 2". For whatever reason he would not admit that there are 3 nails in the metal connector. I needed this inspection for acquiring home owners insurance. My previous insurer, Fed National, dropped all their customers in Florida. Using the US Code Compliance report my home owners insurance would be $700 more a year than I had been paying. So I had another "Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form" completed by Olsen Home Inspections. Once I submitted that to my insurance agent the premium was reduced by $700. I had to pay $100 to have Olsen Home Inspections complete an accurate wind mitigation report. I'm puzzled why James kept saying "I only see 2" when I sent him pictures where there are clearly 3 nails. Perhaps it has something to do with the 3rd nail service they market. Their website is thethirdnail.com and their email address is **************@gmail.com. I will upload both "Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form", the inaccurate one by US Code Compliance and the one later completed by Olsen Home Inspections & my picsBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/19) */ Hi Kent, In response to your complaint, please note you asked us to change a state-issued form to reflect findings we did not find to be accurate in order to receive a discount from your insurance company. As you were informed, if you did not agree with the findings in our report, you were free to hire another company to perform an additional assessment. As a reminder, we were hired by your roofing company who provided our service at no cost to you. As you did not hire us nor pay us directly for this service, reinmbursement is not available for hiring another company.
