02/07/2022 he started the job, we paid a total of 5800.00 plus I spent 2500.00 on Travertine, Marble and fixtures for shower. He is a complete fraud. He is not a contractor and his business is not active in state of FL. He hardly worked 3 hours a day, he made a horrible mess in my house because he did not cover anything. He came begging for more money before the job was completed. On the 12th day he comes to me and tells me the job was done. It wasn't done. he left grout sit on the tiles for over 5 days and on the 12th day he grouted the travertine on the floor and said he was done. I wanted him out of my house so, I decided I would clean the grout off the tile myself because he said he was done and I was afraid if I pushed him to do it he would make more of a mess. I spent about 7 hours and lots of grout remover and the travertine and marble accent tiles still have grout on them and very dull and hazy. I called a tile and grout company and they came and told me that he ruined the travertine. He did not seal the travertine before he grouted it and also he used a sanded grout. He ruined over 2000.00 worth of travertine and marble that we purchased. I was told it would have to be taken out and redone. Karl does not have insurance and nor will he answer phone calls or text messages. I have several pictures, if anyone would like to see them let me know and I can try and post or email to you. I find out today he has taken down reviews from google and changed his business name to Alkar Properties LLC. He started Alkar Properties LLC on 02/14/2022. I still do not show a license for the state of Florida. He has changed his name because of the bad reviews under Karlan Properties. I will also file a complaint with Alkar Properties also. He still will not answer the phone. His name is Karl R. it is going to cost us 12000.00 to have the job redone. He told us he was licensed and insured. He did not supply this information.
