We hired Salt Roofing and signed a contract with then back in November of 2023. Beginning of December they were given a deposit of over $9000 to redo the roofs in 7 little houses on a property located in ******** Fl. Work was supposed to start on the week of January 2 and then we were told middle of January. We have been given the run around for the job up to now. We have requested a refund so we can move on and hire a competent company but they no longer answer their phones or the texts sent to them. I have contacted a lawyer but would like to have this resolved without a law suit.

Salt Roofing was hired in February of 2021 to install a new roof on our house. On October 28,2021, our roof started to leak. It did damage to the ceiling in our living room. Someone arrived on October 29, 2021 to inspect. We were told that workmen had reused old flashing when new was supposed to have been installed. I was told that a crew would be sent on November 1, 2021 to repair problem. I have not heard from anyone from the company yet. I sent an email on Friday, November 6 letting them know my roof was still leaking and I had received further damage to my ceiling with each rainfall. I expect them to stand behind their work.

Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2021/12/06) */ To whom it may concern, The following correspondence is in reference to a complaint filed by one of our customers on 11/08/2021 regarding a roof leak following a re-roof in February of 2021. The original compliant implies Salt Roofing did not address the issues and argued with the customer and did not meet our obligation to the customer. Time Line: February 05 2021: contract signed March 01/2021: Certificate of completion was issued by Lake County Upon completion of the roof, Project Manager met with homeowner and the daughter to explain the need for the customer to have the stucco repaired on the chimney. At that time the Manager also explained that we DO NOT reset solar panels and that the customer would need to contact a solar company to reset the solar panel if that was her desire. The Project Manager specifically stated to both the customer and the daughter of the customer that the stucco needed to be addressed or it would cause issues in the future. October 28, 2021 Daughter called on behalf of the customer regarding a roof leak. October 29, 2021 Warranty Mgr met with customer and due to rain was unable to get on the roof. He did however get into the attic and take pictures of the leak and was able to pinpoint what he believed was the issue. He was also able to take pictures of the minimal amount of interior damage. He mistakenly told the customer that it was possible that the chimney flashing may not have been changed and he would have our warranty repair specialist come out and take care of the issue. The Warranty Manager was unaware that at the time of the re-roof that the flashing had been replaced and both the roofing crew and the project manager informed the customer that she would need to have the individual that did the previous stucco repair return and re-stucco the area where the chimney was repaired. It states in our contract that Salt Roofing is not responsible to stucco /painting /solar panel removal/installation and Satellite dish removal/reinstallation. The Warranty Manager passed the information onto the repair specialist regarding the possibility of the need for flashing around the chimney. November 10/2021: The repair specialist made contact with the homeowner and made arrangement to visit the property the following day November 11, 2021 subsequently making repairs to the area if needed. When the Repair Specialist arrived at the home he confirmed that indeed the flashing had been replaced around the chimney and that the stucco had not been repaired. The Repair Specialist made contact with the original Project Manager and the Foreman of the Installation Crew and confirmed that the customer was informed about the need to address the stucco and the possibility of interior damage if the stucco was not addressed. Following the visit from the Repair Specialist the Project Manager contacted the customer to readdress the issues with the stucco. At that time the daughter of the customer claimed that we never informed her that the stucco was an issue and claimed that he was lying and trying to avoid responsibility. The daughter was extremely rude to the Project Manger and subsequently hung up on him. The customer remained very positive and was pleased with our accommodations. Following the exchange the daughter daughter again called the Salt Roofing office to complain again. At this point the owners of Salt Roofing made the decision to repair the stucco at no cost to the homeowner in an effort to salvage the relationship with the customer. At the time the stucco was repaired the stucco crew asked if they could evaluate the damage to the interior and were denied the opportunity to do so. Salt Roofing made every effort to correct any issues that were outstanding and even corrected issues that were unrelated to the workmanship of our company. We would have be more than happy to assist with the interior issues had we been given the opportunity to address them. If necessary we would be happy to supply pictures of the flashing and the repairs that were completed in an effort to make the customer happy. We feel that we made ever effort to help the customer address the issue and also went above what our scope of work was originally contracted as. It is the desire of Salt Roofing to provide excellent customer service and we take pride in our workmanship and relationship with our customers. Consumer Response /* (2000, 15, 2021/12/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am happy the leak is repaired. No one spoke with me when they came to repair the leak so entry to my home was not denied. I did decide to repair the ceiling myself because I was having new flooring installed. As for being rude, I was told 3 different stories by 3 different people so yes I was very upset. We did not wish for you to hook up the solar panels. We were well aware that we would need to do that ourselves. The only thing we ask was that you marked the spot where they were to be mounted back. As long as the roof doesn't leak again, I will not be contacting your company again.
