In searching for options to assist with rental application denials, I saw this company recommended online. It’s advertised as a co-signing company and I applied under that impression. After submitting my application, I spoke with a representative who explained RIN numbers and suggested the DIY option. I’ve never heard of RIN numbers before, but reassured by the representative. After paying for the DIY option, I was advised that the RIN number was ready and checked my email promptly. I was surprised to see that the email advised me to not use ANY of my personal information. I would be using this RIN number in place of my social security number, I’d need a new phone number, a new email, a new address, even my personal references had to be changed. I was uncomfortable with going through this process and opted not to use the number. Every application I’ve completed has terms and conditions which doing any of the above would violate. I reached out to my representative to inquire about a refund and was denied. I’ve reached out directly via the payment provider and my refund was refused. Typically, I don’t even push matters like this but it’s frustrating that a company would not be 100% about what it is that they’re doing. I did not use the service and would like a refund back for the DIY portion.
