My complaint is that the company A to ****** Remodeling did not fulfill the contract with me. They charged the bank for $60,500.00 due to a mistake on November 19, 2024, and the contractors who came to the house, which were 4 groups, only worked 2 to 3 days and left because they were not paid to continue the project. At this moment, they have not arrived at my house for 2 months and all the furniture in the dining room and living room has been ruined, more than $10,000.00 in loss. Due to the mess inside the house and the dust, we are sick, mainly my father-in-law, who cannot walk, is bedridden and has dementia and Alzheimer**;s. These calls to the company explaining the situation, but they do not take comfort from anyone. The bank is demanding the first payment for November and I do not have to pay that money without the project being finished, which is $9,000.Customer Answer

On 7/7/21, I ordered and purchased a Carrier AC ($6000). Once installation was completed, I noticed that the unit was NOT a Carrier but instead a ColdFlow AC (never heard of) and immediately asked to be replaced with the unit I specified. IMMEDIATELY I FELT A RED FLAG! Instead, ****** **************** Elasaf (direct contractor/seller) offered a $1000 price reduction, which I agreed to as well as the 15 year warranty that accompanied the ColdFlow AC. (I currently have receipts for the Carrier $6000 as well as the ColdFlow $5000.....both with the accompanying 15 year warranty.)On 12/16/24 the ColdFlow stopped performing. After several calls, I was told that they are strictly a sales company only and do not service repairs. I got two new AC quotes and was advised that the compressor, capacitor as well as the fan must be replaced; both advised for a new AC unit. My numerous calls to A to Z (12/16/24 twice, 12/17 twice, 12/18 twice, 12/19 and 1/15/25) were never returned. I sent three emails (one thread) but never got responses. Each time I spoke with ****** B (coordinator) and was informed he would surface the concerns to ********, ****** or ****** and would return my urgent call within the hour/same day. I never heard from anyone. After time, my calls (half a ring) went directly to a voicemail, obviously being blocked. On 12/23/24, I ended up replacing the ColdFlow with a new 3-ton Hydrotech AC, at a cost of $4600. I am trying to attempt to recover some of this expense due to A to Z not adhering to their 15 year warranty. I've never filed a complaint to BBB or YELP but hugely disappointed with the lack of follow thru and unprofessionalism this company exhibits. I was immediately taken aback when I felt 'deceived' originally with the ColdFlow instead of the Carrier. I wish I had reviewed **** in the first place....27 reviews and 24 rated one out of five stars. Horrible and disappointing Christmas expense.....and not a single response.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns.
I understand the frustration you're facing regarding the ** unit. However, I would like to clarify that the contract was made four years ago, and since we are located in *******, regular maintenance on the unit is crucial to ensure its optimal performance. I hope that routine maintenance was conducted as per the manufacturers recommendations, as it could play a key role in the performance of the ** system over time.
Regarding the warranty, the ** unit was provided with a 15-year warranty by the manufacturer, and its essential to confirm whether this warranty was registered with the manufacturer directly. If it was, you would need to contact the company that sold the unit to you for any part issues. As per the original contract, our company did not provide a warranty for 15 years.
It's unfortunate that the unit stopped performing, but it's important to note that, given the circumstances, it isn't the fault of our company. If the warranty was registered properly, the manufacturer should be your primary point of contact for addressing the failure of the unit and for parts replacement under that warranty.
I do regret the inconvenience this has caused you and recommend reaching out to the manufacturer to inquire about possible remedies under the warranty terms.A TO Z GC

I am rejecting this response because:Thank you for your quick response; it's reassuring to see! I think it's interesting after 8 calls and 3 emails you now choose to respond because I felt I needed to bring the BBB into the loop. As a business owner, evidently returning urgent calls/emails do not rank as a priority with you, especially when it involves a major purchase such as an AC unit.
I feel as if this is now being 'pushed aside' to the manufacturer's responsibility. Actually, when I failed to have ANY responses from your frustrating company, I reached out to ******** and the company is no longer around, but has merged with an ****************** which I believe is listed within the emails (also no response). I have attached both 'HOME IMPROVEMENT CONTRACTS' for the original 'oversight' of the ColdFlow as well as the Carrier. Both are on YOUR letterhead and clearly states 'AGREEMENT BETWEEN A TO Z G.C. LLC AND PROPERTY OWNER.' (highlighted in yellow) As for the service maintenance, I would think with this $5000 investment that service would be customary and not to be blamed for a short-lived AC unit. Regardless, you sold this so I feel this is your responsibility to honor your contractual obligation, as I held up to my financial obligation. Again, this unit lasted only 4 years of a 15 year warranty. I am not looking for full restitution but a reasonable and fair agreement.
Sincerely,
***** *******Customer Answer

Attached are the 2 documentations regarding contracts; one for Carrier $6000 (did NOT install but originally was requested) and ColdFlow $5000 which I had installed.
Notice the contract stipulates 'AGREEMENT BETWEEN A TO Z G.C. LLC. AND PROPERTY OWNER'

We understand your frustration, and we appreciate you reaching out regarding this matter. We want to clarify that the 15-year warranty is provided by the manufacturer, as stated in your contract. While we did facilitate the purchase and installation, warranty claims are handled directly by the manufacturer.
That said, we are more than willing to assist in resolving this issue. We can send a technician out to assess the unit; however, there will be a service fee for the visit. If any additional work is required, we are happy to discuss pricing options to find a fair resolution.
Additionally, we have reviewed our records and have not found any previous emails or calls from you regarding this issue. Could you confirm the email address you used to contact customer service? This will help us better understand where the communication may have been missed.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to assisting you further.

We are sorry to hear about the challenges youve faced with your ** system. At A to Z GC, we strive to provide quality work and excellent service, and we regret any distress this situation has caused.
However, we must clarify that A to Z GC cannot be held responsible if regular maintenance on the ** unit has not been performed. The ** unit installed last year was new and functioning properly at the time of installation, and the job was completed to your satisfaction as per the contract.
Regarding ****, he is no longer part of our team, and we are not responsible for any independent work he may have performed outside of our agreement. Our team assessed the unit on-site and found that the issues appeared to stem from a lack of maintenance rather than defects with the initial installation. We communicated that we would do our best to accommodate you in our schedule, and we apologize if there was any delay in following up.
Unfortunately, we cannot replace the unit or assume responsibility for finance charges. However, we remain committed to working with you in any way we reasonably can.
We value your understanding and cooperation as we address this matter.

I have purchased impact windows from this company before and did not think that I would have any problems with any other job I hired them for such as closing my Sun room with impact windows/panels. They began the job in December 2023 and have since then not finished the job and left so many hazards and now do not answer my calls. At first, some of the windows were badly installed and would not open correctly that my brothers had to come and explain to them what the problem was as they did not see any allegedly. Second, the job was so poorly done that whenever it rained, water leaked into my home/room. The caulking was very disgustingly applied and messy. I was so embarrassed to have guest over who have had this job done over. I have made so many attempts to have this rectified and nothing had been done. They have sent one person one day and then they do not return. They have not had the job inspected by the city because of an error committed on their end with our sliding door being removed. We are now in hurricane season and I do not feel safe in my home because of this poor job. They need to finish this job, or they will reap the legal repercussions of not finishing what the contract was signed for. I will make sure to speak to my mortgage company and city to have them come and remove everything and take it back if that is what it takes if they do not plan on fixing and finishing this job as they should.Business Response

If I could give less than a star I would! These people are dishonest and will not honor the work they provide. They did a new roof on my house in 2021 and we still experience leaks. I have contacted them countless times, even spoke with "managers" for the company but no resolve. A manager from the company advised us to go through our home insurance for repairs. Why would we do that when your company is still responsible for the warranty. Somehow no one seems to answer the phone when I call about repair status and somehow we constantly receive unsolicited calls from their **************** about new services. I have only been in my home for 5 years now and 3 have been spent trying to get this company to do the right thing.I hope when the team reads this post, some effort is made to resolve the issue. No need to provide names because I am certain they know exactly who I am. We have been very polite and patient with allowing them time fix the issues. I hate that we have to result to a blast post but enough is enough. On several occassions I have told them that I did not want to escalate and even at one point praised their attention to the matter but apparently that was all talk and no action. Please let the owners know that it cast a very bad image on the company due to the failure to complete a job properly.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
We still have not heard from the company either by phone or in writing. We need someone to come out to repair the roof. The response seems as if they are brushing us off. They have long received payment and not honoring their warranty. We have no desire for compensation at this time, we just want our roof repaired properly.
Sincerely,

We have thoroughly researched the matter, and the roof installation passed all city inspections, confirming that our job was completed correctly and approved by the city. We also tried contacting you to explain this over the phone but received no response. If any issues have arisen after the job was completed, we cannot cover them under warranty, as they are unrelated to the work we performed.
Please let us know if you have any other concerns by reaching out at ***********.

In October 2023 I paid this company $30,000 to remodel my bathroom. Its now January **** and they havent finished my bathroom. They have been giving me the run around, not answering my calls and lying to me. Im still unable to use my bathroom because they did not finish and now they are ignoring my calls. They are a scam. As soon as they got paid, they stopped answering my calls to finish my bathroom.Business Response

Permit was never closed 3 years ago and I found out in July 2023 when I decided to put my house up for same. Three months later, lots of phone calls, texts and email and I cannot get a person to respond since October 9th. Two extensions on my contract to buy a new house and now I loose the new house because of a permit issue that is 3 years overdue? Unbelievable!Business Response
