Good day I was searching online for a affordable mortgage insurance and came across with Universal , I got the quote and I was reviewing the terms when I got an email from ****** from Clovered Evolution Risk advisor welcoming to Universal and the policy was XXXX-XXXXXXXX on 12/22 requesting more documents needed to proceed. I replay to her 'Please disregard my quote, my current agent is working , she responded the policy is active and if I want to cancel , i got replay requesting it. immediately I responded cancel the policy. I did not received a response until today 12/27/2021 via text message, I responded that I have cancelled this policy via email, once again I was asked to replay cancel , I did say cancel immediately, there was not response. I got home and got 3 notification from this company requesting payment. I was furious and called the number on the letter to find out why they went ahead after I request to cancel days ago. This is clear a violation under FTC bad business practice and I want this company to cease and desist , cancel this policy as I stated previously and remove my information. They should honor my request to cancel on the first day she contact me . I still have the conversation and the text message where is showing I did cancelled.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/30) */ Dear ******* ******** Re: Case ID#: XXXXXXXX Thank you for your e-mail dated December 28, 2021, including the concern raised by a consumer. Evolution Risk Advisors and Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company regret any miscommunications that may have occurred in response to the consumer's original request for a quote. While the timeline offered by the consumer does not entirely reconcile to what our records reflect, the policy that was bound pursuant to her request was cancelled back to its date of inception. She was not billed any premium. It is important to note that several of her communications were with her agent and were sent on December 22nd, the day before many businesses closed for the Christmas Holiday. Evolution Risk Advisors and Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company were closed on December 23rd and 24th as well as the weekend of December 25 - 26. On December 27th the consumer's agent, having not seen the consumer's earlier request to cancel the policy, contacted the consumer about providing additional underwriting documentation. It would appear this is when the agent learned of the consumer's previously expressed desire to cancel the policy. The consumer subsequently affirmed that desire. The consumer's request to cancel the policy was uploaded into the underwriting system on December 28th and the policy was cancelled back to its date of inception, December 22nd. The effect of cancelling the policy back to its inception date is it was never in effect. Thank you for the opportunity to provide this additional information and we truly regret that some miscommunications, combined with the long Holiday Weekend, created any concern for the consumer.
