I recently contracted with North American Moving to move approx 888 miles. ************ subcontracts out. You have no idea who to until it's too late to research complaints and reviews...your deposit is not refundable. In my case it was to ***** Boys Moving LLC out of **. The name alone would've persuaded me to BBB search them. The complaint with that company will follow my damage claim settlement. North American did 2 phone inventories..never a physical inventory. The first was for 514 cf with an estimate of $2200. The final inventory was 861 cf with a price of $5800. I was backing out regardless of the lost $750 deposit I had made. After a brief phone hold **** came back with a price of $4400. I still had a few small items to pack so I paid an additional $80 for 5 large boxes. In those large boxes I had consolidated 5 smaller boxes. Those smaller boxes were never removed from the inventory list of items. When ***** Boys showed up..a day late...they began loading..they stopped at, what they said, was 861 cf and said that was what was paid for. Asked if they should continue loading. What started as 514 cf ended up to be **** cf. I was told, then, that North American grossly underestimates the cf to get the job. ***** Boys required $4000 to continue. If I were to write a check they would wait **** days for the check to clear. I gave them $4000 in cash Friday March 31. They did not show up at my new residence until April 11. There was 1 original ***** Boy. They hired local helpers from *********** It was a completely different truck. My belongings had been unloaded and reloaded upping the damage chances by 100%. They demanded the balance in cash before unlocking the truck. I have furniture damage and, of course, it's the sentimental items. I have a missing door mirror. ***** Boys did significant wall, ceiling and formica damage to my original home. They informed me they are only responsible for inventory. I have to pay for those repairs out of pocket.

Number one, I hired a moving company they portrayed to be a company that moves, but yet they were brokers and had me move by their family members. They quoted me a price and they did not maintain the quoting price. They called me on the phone before the moving date to confirm and go over the items, I gave them the items as specified earlier and they said oops you didn't say the bed had a headboard but I did cus I asked them if they take it apart and they said yes. The company said no and they insisted on charging me additional $446, then I didn't agree with it they had me sign, then I called back and I told them that I gave away alot of my other stuff so I wouldn't be charge that extra they agreed and inform me they wouldn't charge that extra $446, I assume they would hold up their end but they still took the money out my checking account. I was upset then they assure me my check was in the mail never came. The movers told me I was under and I should not worry but yet I was charge AGAIN amount around $330 more. The carried my bed out still attached so it went over a line just a little they were too lazy to take apart they ruin my wooden bed expensive frame. Then we they delivered it 2 weeks past the expected date the bed was taken apart then the mover argued with me that I took it apart and I did not , he called and they confirmed the bed was not taken apart and the mover didn't even apologize for his rudeness. I'm missing 2 important personal boxes. Too many companies and people I had to deal with it was a nightmare. I will like at least my $446 back like they promise me. Thank you for your time.
