    Alert

BBB has received several complaints from consumers alleging that JD Gold Trades offered the opportunity to purchase investment of Ecuadorian gold that would be sold in Dubai for a profit. Consumers shared with BBB that they have requested a refund from JD Gold Trades but the company has not provided their funds as requested.

Consumers allege the business promised a 1.5% profit on each transaction.JD Gold Trades’ website advertises the following: “Consistent Return, Receive 1.5% return per transaction regardless of your initial investment and our gold is mined in Ecuador and then sold for a profit with EVERY transaction in Dubai. “

BBB reached out to JD Gold Trades requesting information about the company's operation and or affiliation to mines in Ecuador and substantiation that all clients will see a profit of 1.5%per transaction. The business was unable to provide BBB with substantiation of the profit earnings being advertised to clients and did not provide BBB with documentation to confirm their affiliation with mines in Ecuador. During the review of JD Gold Trades BBB was unable to locate any licensing for the business. BBB requested that the business provide a copy of any licensing held however the business has not provided BBB with the requested information.

BBB suggests extreme caution when responding to bullion investment opportunities and reminds consumers to do background research on bbb.org before signing a contract. While ads claim specific earnings and indicate everyone will make a profit, the BBB files nationwide indicate no evidence of everyone making the earnings advertised/promised.

The Coin and Precious Metal Disclosure Act requires a coin or precious metal dealer to disclose clearly and conspicuously in writing to the consumer before any sale of coins(including gold coins) or precious metal bullion: (1) any fee incurred by the customer upon sale consummation; and (2) the purchase price, the melt value, and the reasonable resale value of the coin or precious metal bullion.

    BBB Tips:

    • Educate yourself about the precious metal industry
    • Contact and speak with other investors if possible.
    • Be wary of unsolicited phone calls offering investment opportunities.
    • Be wary of pressure sales tactics and callers pushing you to make a decision.
    • Be wary of guaranteed and risk-free investments.
    • If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
