I went to the Nextran ******* Truck dealer to get Scr fixed due to the truck not wanting to regenerate. The truck was originally diagnosed and the truck specifically indicated in dashboard what the issue was along with the warning code. When i arrived I showed the mechanic **** all the pictures, dashboard and information as to what i was needing to get done. He stated that after diagnosing the truck again it needed a new Egr cooler and and NOT the **** that that once that was fixed it would eliminate the warning message and the truck would regenerate. I picked up the truck on 3/7- was charged almost $7k just for the truck to break down less than 24 hours after the truck wouldnt regenerate and broke down with the same issue I originally stated that needed to be fixed. I called and spoke to the manager and he advised to bring the truck back- the supervisor/dealer manager apologized and said that yes the issue I originally stated was correct and that it was an error that **** the previous mechanic made. They agreed to fix the truck for the original and only issue and they waived the charges which would have been in the amount of $1658.70 which is almost $5000 less than what i was charged. They refuse to refund me or to give me credit for the charges that they made me pay for services I didnt even need based on the mistake of **** which was admitted by the dealer manager as well. I believe they should be held accountable for this form of practice. If i went for surgery on my left hand and they accidentally cut off my foot- there would be no debate- its the same in this situation- i brought my truck in for a minor repair just so the mechanic can say that that wasnt the issue and I had to pay 3 times what I would have needed to pay for repairs.
