We have used this company for boat repairs. We were recently contacted by Capt. ********************************* after not hearing back on more work we needed done. He sent an invoice and requested my husband ***** him $2000 to obtain the parts. This was on November 16, 2023. We were awaiting a scheduled repair and yesterday ( 11/28/23) we tried to reach him and his son who did repairs at my house. ******* texted he no longer works there and moved out of state ( yet only a week ago he was negotiating prices, jobs, and dates with us) We then found the business online is in another building and we contacted that business, ************************** ************** to find that they are also looking for Capt. ***** they are the owners of the building Adriatic Boatworks operates from. They gave a lawsuit against Adriatic Boatworks and *********************************.Initial Complaint

The original contract to re-build ************************ engine is finished. Unfortunately his computer is bad and we explained this to him and he just doesn't want to pay for it. This repair is not included in the *********-build. We have explained over many months what is being re-built and what is not.
The boat was supposed be due in October but unfortunately we were hit with Hurricane ***. It took me almost four months to fix the damage and get back into business. The first boat we finished was ***********************. He has complained consistently and has cursed at us of why his boat wasn't finished. He went so far as to say Hurricane *** wasn't an excuse not to finish the boat.
The boat was dropped off in May of 2022. ************************ said he didn't need his boat until October because he was going back to ******** for a several months and will not need his boat until October. We started to re-build his engine in the second week of October, because he said he wouldn't be back until the end of the month but the Hurricane hit and put us back four months.
When i get his computer back from ***** I will let him know what's wrong. ***** computers are not made anymore and he might have to buy a used one. I have had 6 customers with this same problem.
The engine is completed and according to the invoice he should have paid the balance and then the engine goes into our warranty program. He is refusing to pay our late fee, which is listed on page 2 of the invoice. A lien will be place on his vessel if he doesn't pay when his computer comes back.
He is rude and just does not understand that he destroyed his engine due to NO maintenance. This is the 3rd worst engine I've seen in the 22 years I have been a Marine Mechanic.
I don't understand his complaint when he still owes us money.

I am rejecting this response because: the boat is obviously still not running, needs to be tested in the water with me and the mechanic.. Will not pay for a job thats not finished..A good business man needs to answer his phone or his emails instead of avoiding me.. He will get paid when the job is completed..

The original job has been finished. There is a computer fault, not associated with the current invoice. His engine is re-built but there his computer is malfunctioning. That is not included in the original job. I have sent his computer out for diagnostic and repair and will let him know what is wrong when I receive an email from the repair company.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:Yes the motor was taken out and rebuilt.. The boat still has not been tested in the water by me and the mechanic..Its still on blocks at the boat yard..It was mentioned to me that it might be a computer problem by his son *******.. He said they were going to send it out to have it checked out on January 19th, 2023.Never heard from them since.. Tried calling.. no answer..The arrogance and lack of character and lack of business ethics is appalling.. The **** is not done if its not running!!!!! Im tired of being lied to.. Its been almost 1year without my boat..
