            Crooked Marine Business On August 16th I took my 22.5' boat in to Twin Screws Marine Service to get an estimate. I needed to have the seals replaced on the lower unit, because I noticed the oil was contaminated with water. They told me they would look at it and get a quote to me by the next Friday. I called several times and texted them and got no response. After over two weeks I Finally got a quote emailed to me on the evening of September 1st. It was for $1,696.00. They took it apart and wanted to charge me for 2 hours work 270.00. After getting the quote I was mad. I wanted a quote. I called two other Marine service centers and got a quote in minutes. Without an inspection, they know what it costs, it's a common repair. One quote was for 900.00 and another for 750.00. I also checked ebay and I could by the whole lower unit for 1200.00 with a guarantee. Twin Screws Marine service gets your boat and tries to manipulate consumers into expensive repairs thinking people will feel committed because the boat is in their possession. I told them to just leave my boat and I will pick it up Tuesday 9-07-2021. Now they say there will be a charge for two hrs labor. FOR A QUOTE.
