    If you want mistakes, lack of accountability and poor customer service, then this is the company for you. Hired to do an extensive upgrade job for our condo complex involving the electric meters they replaced them in the wrong order causing several seasonal residents to pay for electric usage for full time residents. When the error was brought to their attention, they fixed the problem. But they did not let the residents involved know what they did. When I brought my issue to their attention they have to date not paid the $150 in question. This has been going on for over 2 months. Poor service and accountability.

    Mrs. ***** is somewhat correct is saying meters were placed in the wrong position, but it was two meters, not several. It was Mrs. *****'s meter and her neighbor, not several seasonal residents. This was a mistake on our part which we promptly corrected once notified of the issue. We were not informed of this by Mrs. ***** at first, it was her neighbor who reported that his electric bill was unusually low to one of their board members, who in turn, notified us. We then requested billing from Mrs. ***** and her neighbor so we could reimburse her the difference. We did get her billing but not her neighbor's billings. In fact, after all this time, Mrs. ***** just recently, on November 23rd, she gave us her calculations ($150.00) on what she believes we owe her. We suggested she square up with her neighbor, since he was the one that brought all this to light in the beginning, but Mrs. ***** refused to do that. We finally got her neighbor's billings this past Friday, November 26th. The difference being $127.99.
    Security Electric of SW FL, Inc. has been in business for over 26 years serving SW Florida and our mission is to leave each customer satisfied with our workmanship, but in this case, we failed to deliver that for Mrs. ***** by her standards.

    Thanks to the Florida BBB for getting me an immediate response from the company I have been emailing since September.

    I assume I am receiving a check from Security Electric for the noted $127.99.
    When the check arrives, which is has not as of today, I will consider the matter closed.

    To be clear about my standards of customer service, here is what I would expect from a good company:

    1. Security Electric should have notified the customers of the involved meters once they realized their error and corrected it. This was not done. I spent over a month trying to find out why my bill was so high never considering a company hired to do work had mixed up the meters when replacing.Until their above response, I had not idea it was 2 meters and not 4 meters involved in the error.

    2. At the time, they should have taken immediate responsibility for their error and offered to pay the difference. Instead they told me to contact my neighbor--people I had never met--and ask them for money. My neighbor did not make the mistake nor were they paid to do accurate work and it is not their responsibility to pay for Security Electric's mistakes. It took a complaint to the BBB of Florida to get immediate action. This should not have been necessary if a company has good customer service and standards.

    Thanks again to the Florida BBB. I will let you know when I receive my reimbursement from Security Electric.
