On the way to Fort Myers driving from Jacksonville we broke down, which caused up to show up at 8:15pm. Now during this time of been broke down, I had tried several times to call the motel and advise them of my itinerary. Again, no one answered, and I was unable to leave a message. finally arrived at 8:15pm found the doors locked and no one as the front desk. There was a after hours number and I called them. A lady answered the phone, but she told me the office was closed and she was not going to be able to check me in. I asked her if she was on site because someone told us that they just saw her. She refused to check us in, so I had to leave to find another hotel. She informed me that since I was not checked in between 3pm and 5pm that my reservation was cancelled. It took us till 11:30pm that night to find a room and with my illness it was so exhausting. I was unable to take my medication at the proper time. I then proceeded to call the reservation desk and they stated that my reservation was still in place. The next morning, I had to wait till 11am when they said the manager would come in. She arrived at 11:25 and that I would have to wait. At 12:15 told me my reservation was cancelled, so I called the reservation number at that time in the hotel, and they explained that my reservation was not cancelled, I asked her why she would not rent me a room and at that time she was informed that she did have rooms to rent. she was rude and very unprofessional. At 1:30pm she finally rented me a room, she stated that I was lucky to get a room. I stated to her that she is being mean and very unprofessional and her response to that was that I was lucky to get a room. Friday, the 23rd, the heater was broken, get maintenance to get it fixed. I was informed that they were off duty till Monday the 26th. It got colder and there was no one to get blankets, we asked for extra towels on the second day and no one seemed to care. I slept Friday night in my car with the heater.
