I contracted with Lennar Builders to construct a condo in Verandah Club community in ***************. Contract states ********* initiation fee and member dues would start "at closing" of property. Condo is still several months from completion and Verandah has started assessing member dues to me, $728 to date. I have 5 emails and 2 voice correspondence voicing my disagreement that they are charging me member dues when I do not yet have a property in the community and cannot therefore utilize any member services. Each month they send me another statement charging additional dues and each month I send written correspondence protesting such but they don't reply. My outstanding balance is increasing each month and I feel victimized for tis unlawful or unethical practice. I am frustrated and very upset by this . Please hep with assistance to have Verandah correct my statement to a zero balance. Thank you, *********************Customer response

Dear ******,
I filed my complaint on the morning of Jan 9, 2022. Late that afternoon, *********************** member coordinator for Verandah Club, called me and Sid she will work on a resolution with the newly appointed general manager *********************. She asked to allow her a couple of days.
On Jan 12, ***** called me and said new manager **** may consider only charging member dues from my initiation start period of May 2022 to Lennars 2nd tentative unit estimated completion date of September. I said I would be in agreement with that analysis, however it should be from May to my original contracted completion date of Jul 14th. We agreed I would send ***** supporting documentation.
On Jan 13, I forwarded to ***** my contractual documents showing my original completion date of July 14 and said I would be agreeable to member dues being charged only for that period as we discussed the day before.
No reply
On Jan 23, I received your BBB follow up correspondence and I then sent another email to *********************** stating that the BBB wants to know the status of any resolution.
On Thursday January 26, ***** called me and presented the offer that the Verandah club refund my initiation fee and I would not be a member. I agreed and accepted that resolution and we agreed that ***** would send me a confirmation email on Friday the 27th and that it would take one month for the club to process my refund.
At 2:00 on the 27th I had not received an **** from *****, so I called and left her a voicemail reiterating our agreement and that she promised to send me an email confirming our agreement and that I had not yet received it. In my voicemail I stated the items to be mentioned in the email that we agreed upon. They are:
1) that Verandah would refund my initiation fee
2) that my member statement is corrected to show a zero balance
3) that this Verandah resolution will not in any way affect the closing of my unit with Lennar.
It seems that Verandah simply needs to perform what we agreed upon, however I sense that will not be the case
I therefore request that my complaint remain open and ask that BBB reach out to Verandah again suggesting that they resolve this dispute.
