So I had the pleasure of working with Fort Myers Sign company to put up my signs for the cafe unfortunately things turned ugly... I gave Denny the owner a $500 deposit which was fine but when it started to take over 3 weeks to put my sign up after multiple times of him saying he would be there to never show up with no phone call... While he knew I was waiting there so I could pay him. Well he finally put them up and I tried meeting with him again to give the final amount owed for him to never show up or call then he harasses me saying he was going to steal the signs since I haven't paid .. this was after I already tried to meet him on multiple occasions. Well he finally showed up I had the rest of the cash in hand and when I asked for a receipt he threaten to take the signs again and was acting crazy!! He jumped in his truck revving back and forth at me, yelling and threatening me again... Well, today I get a phone call to say my signs have been stolen... Now I'm out $500 and 3 signs...Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/08/23) */ This is a verbal reply taken by BBB: We will be closing the business in 3 months from now, the remaining issues need to be handled civilly in court. We made the sign faces and kept trying contact this customer for the remaining payment, we did what we could to contact them for availability. They were unavailable for each of the dates/times we gave and wanted the sign in 3 weeks even though it takes time to get permitting . She was very unreasonable on the whole job; she did not pay the pay the whole job so we took the sign faces out after. Consumer has seen the signs in person, but she is not allowed back due to abusive behavior. The $500 deposit is nonrefundable, we are parting ways. It is not about money and we do not want the remaining $600. The deposit was to just make the sign, but she needed to pay the remainder for the permit etc. She called the police on us to report nonpermit work when we put it up in good faith before permitting was done, so at this point we took signs down and kept them. We are not willing to go back and we do not want her on the property. She needs to go through this as a civil matter in court, please do not call us again.
