1 starI called twice today to receive my dogs past records as she is a tri pawed and broke her remaining front leg. Colonial animal hospital was the place I took my dog when her leg was amputated.I still have not received a copy of her records.I had relocated to a new area and can not make the 11 hour drive back to *************** to retrieve a copy of her records. And all of my paperwork is in a pod until I can find a place to move into.Review fromTimothy G

5 starsToday we had to say goodbye to our best pal of 17 years. I cannot thank Dr *** and the entire staff enough for being so compassionate in a very tough decision. I will not forget the written message We Love You Oso that was waiting for us. You have no idea what that meant. Thank you.Review fromPat M

5 starsGratitude unexpressed is ingratitude. So Im taking the time to write this to show gratitude in a job well done at a reasonable price. We called Friday and made an appointment for Saturday teeth cleaned and tooth extraction. Everything went as planned and our dog ******* (10yr. Old Lab) now has nice clean teeth. Sent home with antibiotics and pain medicine and a happy dog with clean teeth. Dr. ** **** ******* and staff did a great job! On their website his bio says it all. I PRIDE MYSELF ON WORKING AS HARD AS I CAN TO HELP AS MANY ANIMALS AS POSSIBLE With that said, actions speak louder than words. Hes living up to his words of being a model Veterinarian for the animals. NOT BASED ON GREED! Most people cannot afford dental work for themselves let alone a pet nowadays. Higher volume lower prices helps more animals live a healthier pain free life. The sad truth is pets will not get the health care they need if its not affordable.Review fromLinda V

1 starUsed to be a good veterinary office, went there for 15+ years. Dr Barker used to be compassionate. I do not know what happened but we were soured after having to diagnose things ourselves due to ignorance of staff, mostly seen after they hired an idiot for an office manager. They can't keep the good techs so you get the bottom of the barrel. Also, billing for procedures not done.

1 starBased on diagnosis, we needed to euthanize our senior chihuahua mix. They gave him the first sedative (that generally makes them go completely asleep) but didnt wait until it fully kicked in before giving him the dose of stuff that stops the heart. He was still responsive. They proceeded to give him the dose and it didnt work! They had to go get morelike, leave the room and get more (he was only 14lbs). He was just laying there slowly dying while they refilled the iv thing. Then they stick him AGAIN and he starts whimpering. Hes whimpering while his heart is being stopped by the poison. Ive never been so devastated and so **** mad at the same time. My husband had to settle up because, not only was I hysterical, I was fuming mad. We will never step foot in those doors again with any of our other animals. The lady who administered the medication wasnt even the vet who diagnosed himwas she even licensed to do that procedure? Many concerns about how that place is operated.Review fromMildred c

1 starI give you a 1 star because I have no choice. On September 8th, I brought my dog Storm to Colonial Animal Hospital for a c-section and to be spayed. While everything initially seemed fine, I noticed bleeding on October 30th. I promptly contacted the hospital, and they advised me to bring Storm in, assuring me that the visit fee would be waived if within a month, with a maximum of $75. Dr. Amy K. B******* diagnosed Storm with a bladder infection, prescribing 960mg of SMZ. However, communication issues arose, causing confusion about potential stones. Despite expressing concerns, a vet tech assured me the prescribed medication would stop the bleeding. Later that night, I emailed the hospital expressing worries and received a reply from Dr. W. Dane F******, instructing me to bring Storm back. The return visit, however, was marred by front desk challenges, with conflicting information about visit fees of $430.00. Dr. F******'s response escalated to threats of arrest, During my visit to Colonial Animal Hospital, W. Dane F****** demonstrated unprofessionalism by using explicit language, uttering the F-word twice. This occurred in a distressing situation where I was already in pain and fearing for my dog Storm's life. His disrespectful behavior added to the emotional turmoil during a critical moment of vulnerability. in a distressing turn of events, Storm collapsed in the office. Despite deductions and an agreement to see Storm, her condition deteriorated rapidly. I attempted to seek help from other hospitals, but unfortunately, Storm passed away. This traumatic experience was exacerbated by unclear communication, unexpected fees, and a lack of empathy during a critical time. Had I known the bleeding wasn't going to stop I would of had time to take her some where else. Colonial Animal Hospital's handling of Storm's health issues left me profoundly dissatisfied and grieving for the loss of my beloved pet.Review fromSamone W

1 starNow that I’m done mourning, I can write this review. I’m not the review type but if I can save just one pet life it’s worth it. Please do not take your pet here. The entire staff, from the receptionist to the doctors are so incompetent I’m still in awe that this hospital is open. Yes, they have convenient hours and are very flexible with walk-ins but what good is any of that if they have no idea what they are doing. We called as my dog was having trouble breathing. We explained what happened, her condition, her breed. All the info they needed. They informed us to come there and they will be expecting us. We get there, no one comes out to help (time wasted) as we lift our dog out of the truck the dumbfounded receptionist goes on to say they don’t have an oxygen tank big enough to fit my dog (more time wasted). Keep in mind they knew the size of the dog, the breed and that she was struggling to breathe. And still directed us to drive to their hospital. I asked why didn’t anyone call us back to tell us that? We could’ve stopped at the ER clinic or a closer clinic that could help. Receptionist states she is the only working the front desk and is only one person. So because she didn’t have time to call back and tell us not to come there, my dog stopped breathing and died. No oxygen for over 45 min. She was a few days shy of having her first litter. Puppies died as well. Everyone, gone just like that. Time wasted. Because she made an error and never corrected it. It was a simple call back to tell us not to waste time going there. Just a quick call. If only we wouldn’t have wasted those precious minutes driving out the way, perhaps we would have her and the puppies. Oh and absolutely no apology, just excuses.

1 starBeware! If you want your dog to seek medical attention without seeing the treatment performed and then when you call back because she was having trouble with the procedure and medication to call us back and get no response. Then call and ask to email the records to go elsewhere for answers and no emails. You show up to get the records and the attendants show zero care about the lack of support for the customer and patient. The mission cant be about the animals!Review fromSteve E

1 starI inherited my Grandma's Yorkie, ******* when she passed last April. This past Monday night, ******* had a grand mal seizure and I thought it might have been a one time thing, then it happened the next night also. I took him to CAH and he had another seizure on the way there! Something isn't right. I know ******* has chf and we're not exactly sure of his age, but know he's at least 9. I'm thinking ok, his kidneys and or liver may not be doing well so I wanted some bloodwork so I could make an informed decision to either treat with medication or help Buttons cross that bridge to go be with Gram, but I'm not spending a ton of money on him at this stage in his life! If he can be fixed with simple medication, great! Well, ****************** came in, and I quote "You don't give a s*** about him because he's not yours!" Excuse me? I asked him to please not say that. We went back and forth about him saying I didn't care, he dropped an F bomb, asked me if $3000 was too much, I said yes, he kept putting a price on my "care and love" for Buttons! So after I was in tears, I said "F**k it, do what you have to do with him and I'll pay whatever!" ****************** was beyond unprofessional, rude, and owns this place!! I've been there a few times with another pet, and the vet I saw for my shih *************** was great!! ****************** did bloodwork and said he did an xray, which I don't believe he did, but came in saying ************ looked fine, which they are not fine! He did end up apologizing for his behavior in the end, but the prescriptions he wrote were written so wrong, the pharmacist refused to fill them! I went back and traded in for different rxs and those were wrong too, so I waited for the RECEPTIONIST to write another one and that was wrong as well, but at least she spelled the drug correctly this time and the pharmacist was able to correct it. I'm taking Buttons to my normal vet today and will never use CAH again!!
