Keller's associate broke the housing of an oil filter while attempting to do an oil change. Keller's informed me it would be a $63 charge to replace the housing. They claimed previous auto care secured the housing for the filter too tight on last oil change. If it were too tight why did employee continue to remove the housing. I had to spend $63.00 extra with another auto service to complete the oil change because they could not complete the job. The company that did the previous oil change said Keller's was using an improper tool. Bottom line Keller's did not take ownership of the damage they did in attempt to service my car.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/25) */ Sorry to find out through the BBB that Mr ********* was dissatisfied with our aborted oil change service on his Toyota Highlander. When our tech attempted to remove the oil filter housing we found that the previous auto repair facility had over torqued the assembly and in an attempt to remove it, it began to crack/ and yes it did start to seep, we showed Mr ********* at that time and informed him of the cost if we had to replace the housing or save him money by returning back to the shop that had overtorqued the assembly in the first place, witch is the option that Mr ********* choose.I feel we handled the interaction correctly with Mr ********** We also refilled his engine with 4 quarts of Mobile 1 synthetic oil without charge before sending him back to the last shop. As far as improper tool goes we use Motivx or Motiv Toyota/Lexus specific oil filter tools. Sorry to hear Mr ********* was dissatisfied with our service.
