I booked a room for one night at this hotel 11/25/23. My grandson and I attended a football game and didn’t get back to hotel until midnight. The next morning, 11/26 we packed up quickly because I had to get food. Unfortunately, I left behind a very valuable and potentially deadly dangerous item. I did not notice it gone until we reached our next location and I opened my suitcase. I immediately contacted the hotel and was given the runaround. They told me there was no way to contact the manager and I’d have to wait until housekeeping arrived the next morning. I ended up returning to the hotel and contacting the police. The police told me there was nothing that could be done until all parties were at the hotel at 8 am. After spending the night in my vehicle in the hotel parking lot I was finally able to speak with the manager when he arrived after 9am. He said it wasn’t turned in and housekeeping denied knowledge of it. There is only 2 places it could have been; in the hotel room or my suitcase. The manager took me back to the room I’d spent the night in and it was not in the room. He made a half attempt to locate it behind curtain, under bed (which was on an enclosed pedestal type bottom. The item in question is a smith and Wesson 380 ** **** ********* ****** with * ****. One filled with 8 hollow point **********. In a fully closed carry case. All together the value, monetarily, is 900$. Physically and emotionally unable to be priced. I am physically sick at the thought someone may use my gun and hurt someone.
