On May 21, 2024, I went to Sunshine Rides Bike Shop, in ********, to have two bike tubes replaced, while there I realized there was another problem with the bike so I asked the owner, ***************** to due a tune up, tubes and handle grips. I asked him to give me an estimate if I needed additional parts are repair.I asked, "May I have a cost estimate?" After some mumbling and stumbling over prices, he refused to give a straight answer. "Then please call me with the estimated costs after you've looked over the bike." I asked. "I'll call you." He said. "May I have an estimated time for the repairs?" I asked. "I'll call you." He said. He had indicated earlier he was not busy and assigned it to an assistant who agreed to start the work, while I was present.A day later I had not received a call so I returned to the shop and noticed the bike torn down and being repaired by the assistant. I again requested a quote for the work being done. He said "$230., maybe 250" I said "OK. I want the old parts back, please."Then I asked if the work would be completed before the Memorial Day weekend? "I'll call you." He said. He called at 2:35 pm Sat. (25 minutes before he closed for the Memorial Day weekend). He quoted $******. I asked why the difference from $230-250. He mumbled a response about the quality of his work and I reminded him I'd asked him to call me if it were to go over what he'd estimated. He also claimed to have ordered a "special part" which I again reminded him that I'd asked him to call me with a quote on additional parts. He abruptly hung up the phone. I gave him two chances to recalculate the total. He chose instead to berate me again. Only insignificant old parts were returned to me, not the chain(he charged $60 for a replacement without my permission). The estimate of $230 to $250 eventually, without prior notice, $******. As a remedy, I am demanding, the difference between $250 and ****** ($61.37) plus $60 for the chain, totaling $121.37.
