Ur I had a flood in my house. I was issued a check from my insurance company for repairs. ************ came to assess the job and **** up a contract.. he stated that he was a licensed contractor and the number on the invoice was his contractor licensing number. The contract was broken into three phases 1 2 3 . I gave . **** $3000 as a down payment to start the job in cash. I gave them **** at phase 2. I was hesitant to give him the $**** because he began a job he said he would be done in a week to a B the latest. He hardly showed up for work at all. Maybe one or two days a week and I would call him and ask him where he was because my house is in disarray. He always had an excuse of why he couldnt have come that day he had car trouble he was having a fight with his wife that he is divorcing he was depressed. He did very little work on the contract that he signs but he took most of the money that the insurance gave me for the repairs. He abandoned the job and stole my money. Now I am left with a house that is a mess and the money that the insurance gave me to fix it Mr. man has stolen. He does not answer my calls nor does he answer my texts. He was supposed to come up and put the paneling and put in light fixtures and he was always had an issue on that day he claim to have ordered the carpet from ********** but there always was an issue where he could not coordinate with **********. The bottom line is he abandoned the contract And stole The money the insurance company gave me. I dont know when Im going to do now I am a teacher and I do not have a kind of money that he stole from me to hire another contractor to complete the repairs. He seems so nice and I trusted him. My husband is 81 and all of this stress has affected his health negatively
