In June of 2021, I wrote a check to CH Global Construction for $19,000 due to having an illegal addition on my home I wanted demolished or brought up to code to be legal. CH Global had done work for me with a company I had worked for doing million-dollar projects, so I felt I could trust them. However, that was not the case. When CH Global first got involved with my issues at my home, we were in conversations earlier in 2021. They came out and assured me that could legalize the structure (illegal bathroom and dressing room on the backside of my house) or demolish it for around $5k. They stated the entire job to legalize would be roughly $19K - $23K. Additionally, there was a garage apartment (separate from my house) that was also deemed illegal. However, during these conversations, other upgrades to my home came up and they convinced me if I were to do other upgrades, I should do them all at once, such as my kitchen and flooring. They stated, they could add the garage to my home, legalizing the garage apartment and the illegal addition (bathroom and dressing room). With that stated I agreed, refinanced my home, and took out the $100,000.00 to have funds for the job. On June 1, 2021, I provided a check for $19K to CH Global Construction to begin the renovations and get approved plans. The plans provided by CH Global were never approved and constantly having been changed due to the inability to get the illegal addition legalized, and the garage attached to the home. Additionally, after this went on for some time with the back and forth, I stated to CH Global, just get the permit and demolish the illegal addition. They never complied. In early 2022, I did state the renovations would have to go on hold, as I was changing jobs, however, I still never received any approved plans for any work, so how can something that is not approved be on hold. I never received approved plans. They took my $19,000 and never provided any approved plans or anything of the like. On more than one occasion, I requested CH Global just get the permit to demolish the illegal addition and they did not do this either. After never receiving approved plans, I reached back out to CH Global in late 2022, and asked about the plans, I that time, they indicated the architect would not work on the plans any further and directed me to another architect "South Florida Expedites, LLC" and stated to pay them or South Florida Expedites directly and he would have plans in two weeks. *********************** stated if they don't come out, he will reimburse the payment. Well, they never came out, and I never got reimbursed that $2,250 either. They were paid in total $21,250 for no results, no approved plans, and no demolition. In addition, I paid for DERM, Soil Test, Surveyors and many other items. I have reached out to CH Global; they refuse to refund my $19,000 and the $2,250 for the other architect they referred, that never even called or showed up. I had called him, ******************, we spoke, he stated he would be out within the week, and this was July of 2022, and I still have yet to hear back.CH Global did not do $19K of work and should pay my funds back!

The client had an existing illegal structure that existed years before CH Global was contacted. That the client had conveyed over a number of discussions in 2021 that he had contacted and hired other contractors who were unable to resolve his problems and/or that he had problems with other contractors. CH Global advised the client that it did not do architectural, engineering or design work and that such individuals would be needed to determine whether the illegal structure on the clients property could be brought to code. Notwithstanding these discussions, the client was put in contact with an architect to initially address a design project as requested by the client, the client repeatedly changed the design components of the project and was not responsive to the initial architect a request to place a hold on the project for personal reasons; continued to delay the project and eventually requested that the project, and city undergoing set of plans and calculations revision process, be put on hold due to clients personal problems; then a second architect was put into contact with the client and there were then disputes between the customer and the second architect. The illegal structure on the clients property pre-dated any contact between the client and CH Global. Although, CH Global attempted to help the client with possible solutions to the illegal structure on the clients property due to the clients desire to continue to change the scope of work, and its lack of responsiveness to architects, his disputes with architects, his delays with being responsive to request of architects and even his request that all project work be put on hold, all delays came about a result of the actions or inactions of the client.
