Subject: Urgent: Assistance Needed for Scam Involving Fraudulent Paint Contractor Dear *** or Madam,I am reaching out to report fraudulent activity by a paint contractor I found on Instagram and to request your assistance in resolving this matter.On July 15, 2024, I contacted *********************************** on Instagram (username: pmp_painting_) to hire him for a painting project at my home. After discussing the details, we agreed on a total cost of $1,500 for the project. I made an upfront payment of $700 through Zelle from my checking account, as requested by the contractor.Unfortunately, ********************** failed to show up on the agreed start date of July 20th, citing another job. He then rescheduled for July 21st and later for July 22nd, but he failed to show up both times. Our communication continued with him rescheduling for July 23rd and 24th, but he failed to show up on those days as well. This led me to request a refund of my deposit. Despite assurances to refund the deposit, ********************** has stopped all communication, and I have not received the refund.I have text message exchanges with the contractor, which includes English and Spanish due to a language barrier. These messages clearly show his agreement to refund the deposit and his subsequent failure to do so. I also have the initial paint contract and terms of our agreement for your review.This situation has caused me significant financial loss and distress, and I kindly seek your assistance in obtaining a refund of my $700 deposit and safeguarding my consumer rights against fraudulent contractors like **********************.Thank you very much for your time and support.Sincerely,*********************************
