            Received a notice in the mail from Parking & Transportation Compliance Inc, out of ************. It states our car was parked in lot at ******************************************************************, on 09/06/2024. They have a picture of a car with Minnesota license plates. We have not been in ********* in the past ten years. The car in the picture is not ours and we do not have the license plate number. Although, I believe we did have that number in the past. The notice states, if we do not pay it, they will send it to collections. There's not an option to call. Only a web site if I have a complaint. The way the notice is written, I feel it's a scam and do not feel comfortable filing a dispute through there web page.

            Scam - talk about JUNK FEEs. I received a bill for $50 and you have to pay $5.99 to process the payment to a company in ******* for a parking garage in **. And in large bold letters a threat to send to collections if not paid. Also misleading on the notice is a statement that it is clearly displayed at the parking garage that a fee of $50 is due. Giving the reader the impression that it was $50 to park there not the $4.95 that was paid. Nowhere on the notice does it tell you what the charge was to park there (which was paid) was only $4.95. The only way to file a dispute is online. A dispute has been filed for notice ***********.

            The Notice that was issued was based on the data captured from the payment vendor at the garage - the plate of the vehicle was not entered, therefore, a Notice of Non-Compliance was issued.  The garage operators choose to use our service to enforce payment for parking in their facility.  If proof of payment is demonstrated, the Notice can be waived.

            As with any type of infraction, the fee to recover non-payment is much higher than the original parking fee that would have been paid at the time of the parking session. Our client chooses this touchless enforcement option to minimize the need to tow/boot vehicles, which could cause damage, leaves the driver without the use of their vehicle, and is typically much more costly than the fees assessed in the Notice.

            It is important that consumers understand why it is critical to follow the instructions when using payment kiosks or payment applications.  If the data is not entered correctly, a Notice will be produced.

            We hope this information helps to avoid receiving a Notice in the future.
