I am absolutely heartbroken & appalled by the experience I had at LeadER Animal Hospital. My dog ***** had been struggling for over six months w/ severe symptoms like lethargy, loss of appetite, tremors, & a persistent rash that ultimately became resistant to treatment. Desperate for ********************** I decided to take him to the animal **. Upon arrival, we were told that Jerrys condition wasn't emergent, & we ended up waiting for over two hours to be seen. When we finally met Dr. ***** *****, I felt dismissed & belittled. She suggested ***** might have Cushings disease but insisted on running the same blood panels my regular vet had already done weeks prior, which wouldn't help in diagnosing the condition. Instead, she focused on a potential stomach ulcer, despite there being no supporting diagnostics. We left with several prescriptions, but ***** **** continued to decline. When I followed up w/ Dr. ***** on the phone, I was met w/ nothing but aggression and disrespect. She accused me of not giving ***** his medications & of refusing recommended tests, neither of which was true. I was left feeling helpless & like my concerns were completely disregarded. I had to beg for a Cushings test, which I returned to the ** to have done, bringing a witness w/ me because of how confrontational Dr. ***** had been in the past. Once again, I was met w/ hostilityshe raised her voice, spoke over me, and made me feel guilty for simply seeking answers. She even said, Dont look away from me, when I briefly turned to my partner for support. Dr. ***** scheduled a f/u a month away, but tragically, ***** passed away just two days later. I am beyond devastated by this entire experience and feel completely betrayed by the lack of empathy and professionalism at this facility. As a medical professional myself, I am appalled by the treatment ********* received. My heart is broken, and I hope no one else has to endure such a painful, dismissive experience.

****** Ks experience was like mine. I brought in a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog with a torn meniscus and after two operations and $20,000 I had a box of ashes. I agree with everything ****** K writes. I have suffered my loss for a year, and still have nightmares. The worst aspect of my experience was when a second LeadER surgeon said our dog was too old for the surgery. The operating Veterinarian said I sell Surgeries. Is that what you want for your pet?

We brought our cat Robert to LeadER for a blood transfusion. First they gave him cold blood and had to stop the transfusion, they did NOT inform us. A few hours later one of the techs on her way out of work hooked my CAT up to DOG BLOOD! We were lied to all night and told everything went smoothly by front desk team as no Dr would get on the phone with us. The next day the owner Dr. ***** H***** called my husband and told him what had really transpired. He was tortured for 2 days, we had to euthanize him as he was suffering tremendously. I will never forget the look in his eyes begging us to help save him, it will haunt me forever. The owner, Dr. H***** refused to fire the tech who made the horrible mistake and also refused to reimburse me for torturing Robert for 2 nights that ended my sweet boys life. They wanted me to sign a general release form that said they held no responsibility and were NOT liable for what happened to him to give me my money back! They tried to get rid of me and treated me like garbage after significantly harming my baby boy. The story was on the Local 10 news I have tried to post this in as many places as possible, I can only hope this time people will be able to see it so that I can save more precious pets lives.... PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM LEADER ANIMAL SPECIALTY HOSPITAL Robert didn't deserve this gruesome ending, and there are many more stories posted here and on Yelp that should scare you away. Please don't live with the regret that I will never be able to forget Just do a search for the following: south florida woman claims vet gave cat dog blood in botched transfusion You will be able to see my devastating story!

LeadER is by far and without exception the GOLD standard for animal care, not only did Dr ****** and the entire LeadER team step up for my family when our beloved pet Khali fell ill. The level of tender compassion and Pro **** work that was done to try and save Khali was bar none a blessing and prayer answered. During this time, I was going through a nasty and expensive divorce with little to no money available for the care of Khali. Dr. ****** stepped up and sacrificed profits over his the LeadER love for animals. I highly recommend LeadER and Dr ****** for any needs your pets have.

Taking my cat to LeadER was one of the worst decisions Ive ever made! I made an appointment to see a Specialist (internal medicine) for feline gastric issues. In spite of him detecting a heart murmur and knowing from the ultrasound that there was fluid build up near the kidneys, the doctor prescribed an extremely high dosage of prednisolone. The steroid landed my cat into emergency and resulted in subsequent heart failure with grave implications to his kidney. My poor boy was only 8.5 years old.I wish I had done more research & paid greater heed to many of the reviewers who have had similar experiences of zero follow up and incompetence from the staff and front desk at LeadER.

It seems like most of the reviewers below have had a very unfortunate experience at the hospital and I am sorry to hear that. On the 5 occasions we've had to take 3 of our 4 dogs for emergency care the have done an outstanding work. Yes, LeadER is expensive, but I believe that is because they have a very large staff and have invested considerable money to have the best equipment available for pet care and emergencies. When other animal hospitals are closed (even when say the offer 24/7 care), they always open with 1 or more DMVs on staff. As far as having to wait longer that one might want to, I believe that can be attributed to the fact that it is one of the few animal hospitals that offer real emergency service.

The worst experience at a veterinary establishment I've ever had. Brought my cat in for a non-serious issue, spent $4,000 for him to stay for 48 hours, and when I took him home he could barely even stand. I had to make the heart wrenching decision to put him down 24 hours after I brought him home. They don't care about your pet- just your money. Beware.

worse animal hospital. only care about the money and not to help the pet. pay 155 just to have my cat sit inside his cage and not get looked at or get IV fluids he needs. this type of business needs to be reported. the vet world needs to change and actually do their jobs.

If you love your pet, do not bring them there! Please believe the bad reviews. These people should NOT BE IN THIS BUSINESS. The lack of care, empathy and even respect is outrageous. They are more interested in taking your money than saving your pets life!!I brought my dog there, who was diagnosed with liver failure, and they made us wait 5h to get a consult and xray. Meanwhile my sick dog was sitting in the cage in the back without getting proper care! They then brought us a 6K bill for a 48h hospitalization, and billing us for the same exams he had already done at the vet an hour prior. When we asked about the reason why we would have to do these tests again the nurse simply shh us. She was condescending, did not show any type of care of compassion, and straight up rude and disrespectful. After getting some more results they advised us to put my dog down if we didnt want to spend another 3k for his overnight hospitalization, knowing that his chances of survival were really against the odds. When we came back, we had more questions about palliative care but they simply told us that the doctor had changed and she didnt know our dogs case nor did have the time to look it over so that she could answer our LIFE OR DEATH questions. We were told that if we wanted to talk to the new doctor we would have to wait a few more hours. Mind you, they had charged us 1K for xray and IV.How can this even be happening??!! Im at loss for words. These people clearly only care about the money. I understand this is a business but how can they behave like this when they know bringing a terminally ill pet to their facility is the most painful and heartbreaking situation to be in?They made every single thing a lot harder than it should have been.If your pet needs an emergency room, please dont bring him there. The ** on biscayne bd treated us with so much care and respect, and we should expect nothing else when having to bring our pet to the **

I dont even want to give this place one star!!! Worst experience ever the vet came in for literally 1 minute looked at the stray cat my friend brought in. Told her it was a tumor. When she tried to see how much it was going to cost to board the cat for 1 night they tried to charge us $3000. When we asked/demanded to speak to the vet. The people working there refused to get the vet. When we tried to call up there and pay the $155 for the original fee. So we could take the cat to a different hospital. We asked how did they get $3000 for one night stay. They hung up on us multiple times. And just sent us a link to pay that looks like a straight up scam that they steal your card info. Once we refused to use the payment link they tried to with hold the cat from us because they wouldnt take payment nor let any of us speak to the vet. Long story short these people do not care about animals they just want to take advantage of people who try to save hitting animals. This place should be closed and the vet should have there licenses revoked
