I paid Stacy G.at AMI Watersports $467.50 via VENMO on 2/14/22 for a pontoon rental for our spring break in April. I attempted to make contact with her several times prior to our vacation without luck. When we arrived, we went down to the marina where they keep their boat rentals and found out that they had pulled their boats and apparently sold them. I attempted to make contact with them and they promised to pay the money back but then ghosted me and wouldn't respond. Danny G. is the husband of Stacy and the one time I did speak to him, he did report that they closed the business and he was going to focus on jet ski and boat repair. I asked him why he didn't inform his customers and he couldn't give me an answer. I am still hoping to get some or all of my money refunded.Initial Complaint

My son purchased a $200 gift card for me to be used at AMI Watersports. I started reading reviews about AMI Watersports and sevetal reviewers said that AMI had scammed them and did not follow through with boat tours even after they took consumers' deposit. So I went to their address to talk to them and the address was invalid. It was actually at a hardware store in Holmes Beach and they knew nothing about this business. Another business at the marina said that they were out of business. They didn't answer their phones and they removed most of their website and online access. So I filed a complaint with the Holmes Beach Police Department.,. Case # XXXX XXXX.... Officer D., He said they couldn't do anything so they referred me to you. I just want to get my son's $200 back and to keep them from scamming other people. Anything that you could do for me would be appreciated. Thank-you, ***** *******
