Jason came to our home 2/18/22 to give us a quote for a short 15 min move. We obtained the quote and booked our move with less stress moving. On 2/26/22 Jason and his crew started out with a bang but as soon as Jason got tired things went down hill. He left multiple items like desks, TVs and boxes at the old residence after the second load. When we asked if they were going back to get the rest Jason first said "oh you wanted those TVs?" Yes Jason it was on the quote YOU provided us. And yes Jason we want our two 65 inch TVs. He than stated doing a second load was unusual. We explained that he came to the house and saw what we had. HE gave the quote not us. I than stated he left our desks too (not yet realizing he also left multiple boxes as well) He than got angry and said "What are you guys just adding things on?" We explained where the desk was and he stated "oh yeah I remember...can't you just put it in your car?" He than stated he'd be by tomorrow to finish. Finish things like ....put my mirror back on my dresser. Put the door back on its hinges that he removed to get an item out. Get the rest of the stuff. Get a large heavy box out of my SUV. Once my husband paid him cash for the job he got angry we wanted change back. Money we now have to spend to get a new mover to get the rest of our stuff. Also his second load consisted of dumping the rest of our stuff in the garage. So now I have some master bedroom boxes buried in garage items. Even though each box was clearly labeled. Our contract also stated they would take away unwanted furniture which Jason than refused to do so. Jason won't answer calls now or return messages. Finally after numerous tries to contact him Jason responded. He claimed we added items he didn't know about than said he'd "report" us for trying to contact him. We have had to hire another contractor which costs us an additional $475.00. We would would like those funds returned.

      Business response

      04/20/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/09) */ See attachment: Jason's response (interactive) Mr. ********* received a in person, binding flat rate for his move on 2/26/22. On the day of move Mr. ********* requested that we moved a additional 30 items that was not listed on the agreed upon inventory. Mr ********* also requested since he overloaded almost every one of his 90 boxes that we did not stack them, as they would crush each other. With not being able to stack the boxes and the additional items added this caused us to make two trips (not the agreed upon one trip). This caused the job to go over by four hours from what our expert estimator figured our cost for the job to be. There was a rat in Mr. *********'s belongings that got loose in our truck. We had to have our truck sprayed and steamed as well as all the blankets steamed. Because of both situations we obviously had to assume additional cost to us. It clearly states in the contract that if there is any deviation in inventory or work requested of Less Stress Moving on day of move, price adjustments will be made accordingly. At the end of the move as you can see by his signature Mr. ********* was happy with his move. It was not till the next day (Sunday, when we are clearly not open) that he had a problem. As you can see it immediately started with threats. There was no attempt to try to have a conversation, just bullying tactics to get his way. We informed Mr. ********* that threats will not have him receive a proper response from us. Mr ********* simply did not care. At this point Mr ********* took the bullying tactics to all out harassment as noted by the 30 calls before we opened on Monday, the threating texts in response to our response of coming to our office, a lawyer, the Secretary of State, 6 more calls after we had responded to him via text, and the "complaint" we are responding to. At this point we felt it was best to remind Mr ********* again that threats will not resolve anything and to just part ways. We assumed it was over at that point with Mr *********s response of "fair enough, we will". We assumed wrong. Two hours later Mr ********* continued with his harassment and intimidating posture. At this point we informed Mr ********* that he needed to stop, or we would notify the authorities of his continued harassment, Mr *********'s response "report it". We truly did not want to take it to that level, so we held off. Now on Tuesday we are again receiving a threatening ultimatum of pretty much of pay or else. I would like to call attention to that particular text and the "invoice" in it. Apparently Mr ********* also wanted us to do a dump run for him for free (yet again nowhere did it state in the contract this additional work), as noted by the demanding ultimatum that we pay the $475 in full. At this point we felt we did not have a choice in the matter any longer and we reported the continuing harassment to the police. It was not until Mr ********* was made aware that it had been reported did he stop. In our almost 9 years of business, we have never had to call the authorities because of a customer until now. All of this is clearly nothing more than a attempt to bully and strong arm us into giving Mr ********* even more for free then already received. At this point if it isn't clear enough, I call attention to the******** list review. It was submitted on the night of 2/26/22. Mr ********* purposely signed the contract stating he was satisfied with the move and that it was completed, then without warning or our knowledge submitted the review. Now to back Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/03/20) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) First let me state that I absolutely tried to get a hold of Jason to honor is commitment to this job. If Jason thinks stating to go to the BBB and Google etc is threats than he needs to google the word. Every bit of Jason's statement was a lie. There was not 30 boxes added. The majority of our items were pre-boxed at the time of estimate. We also helped move our own items in our SUVs of very important items we did not want movers touching. Jason and his crew were at our home for hours. Not one complaint from Jason that he felt we added boxes. There was not a problem until Jason became tired and irritable. One final not....I noticed on google reviews that ANOTHER person a week after me complained about the SAME EXACT ISSUE and added photos to the review. Shirley we both cant be lying. I am requesting that Less Stress Moving reimburse me for my additional costs. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/03/21) */ Mr *********, you should be made aware of the following. The Better Business Bureau has both the signed contract and work sheet They have screen shots of your entire text exchange with us. They have screen shots of your very over excessive calls, your invoice that you are demanding we pay in full with a clear view of a dump run being included in the demand. They also have a screen shot of the******** list review with a time stamp of when it was submitted (as we are a paid customer, so we have access to that.. You can say that everything is a lie, you didn't threaten us multiple times (funny how the police saw them as threats, as well as your behavior not of a rational person) ,this wasn't pre planned and how we owe you but...... Everything stated was lie according to Mr.*********, Ok Mr *********, 8 questions. 1.By your own hand did you sign the paperwork for the job stating the job was complete and that you were satisfied with the job? Answer- yes 2. Does it say anything anywhere on the paperwork about a second trip? Answer- no 3. Does it clearly state on the paperwork that any additional work requested from the agreed upon work of Less Stress Moving or any additional items added to the agreed upon inventory will result in additional charges? Answer- yes 4. Did you overload all of your boxes and specifically told the men because you did so not to stack them on each other? Answer- yes 5.Did you add a additional 30 items (not boxes) to the job that was not on the agreed upon inventory? Answer- yes 6. Did both of these situations cause us to make a second trip that was not in the agreed upon contract? Answer- yes 7. Did a rat get loose in our truck from your belongings costing us even further expense? Answer- yes 8. Did you purposely go on******** list and give us a one star review after we left (the same night) when you signed the paperwork stating the job was complete and that you were satisfied, proving your intent in all of this? Answer- yes 9. Did you demand that we also give you (via payment) a dump run for free that was not included in the agreed upon contract or else? Answer- yes 10. Did you continually threaten and harass us for days regardless of us requesting that you stopped? Answer- yes Mr.********* with all of this now in plain view it is plain to see that you DO NOT have a legitimate complaint WHAT SO EVER. It starts with YOUR SIGNATURE stating that the job was completed to your satisfaction, and then continues from there. We on the other hand most certainly do have a legitimate complaint and it has been reported. We do not owe you anything AT ALL. Apparently you do not honor your legally binding word of your signature on a contract. If it wasn't clear from the first response you will not receive any kind of payment at all from us.
