I bought my house in November 2021. The house had gas services with Sunrise propane in Hudson FL. I was never told the tank was a rental and I had to received service with only sunrise. I contacted Sunrise on 3/31/2022 and spoke with Melani. I ask to purchase the tank that I already have buried in my property, they refuse to sell it and pretty much are forcing me to OVERPAID at $7.64 per gallon of propane, when AmeriGas will only charge me $3.14 per gallon. I'm a disable veteran and live in a restrict budge. I need this issue to be resolved ASAP. I want to be able to buy the tank at a reasonable price in order to be able to change provider. I cannot afford to continue overpay for Sunrise services.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/04/25) */ The gas tank is in fact our property leased to the property owner. There is a contract with the old homeowner that has been in effect since 2018. We have no way of knowing if the property changes hands with a sell, but the tank remains our property. We do not sell our tank because it takes 6-8 months to get replacement tanks from the factory these days. We base gas pricing on usage and with a new homeowner there is no history so the price is higher than it may eventually be for now. With some history with this new customer, I'm sure his price will change. We are willing to work on the price per gallon now if he would like to call us, but we will not sell our tank. If Mr. ********* would like to change providers, we just need a written disconnect notice and we will pick up our tank and he is free to use whomever he chooses. Legally no other gas provider can fill our tank and vice versa so unless he switches providers, he has to use our gas service.
