Took dog for yearly on 3/19. Diagnosed by vet 1 with ear infection. Given steroid shot and ear cream. Dog began vomiting & couldnt keep water down. Saw vet 2 on 3/22. Diagnosed with diabetes and gastroenteritis. Given shot for nausea; prescribed insulin and antibiotic for gastroenteritis. Dog couldnt keep water down over weekend. Saw ***** on 3/25. Vet looked at same bloodwork as vet 2. Diagnosed ketoacidosis and a uti. I said vet 2 never mentioned either of those. Could you go and confer with him about this. ***** said she was not responsible for the other dr. ***** claimed I had refused hospitalization. Vet 2 never advised hospitalization. Then the vet and office manager got hostile and told me I should leave. I have been to this practice for 25+ years. I suspect they must have made a huge mistake to warrant such a reaction. I never raised my voice. The office manager said youre one of those people who acts nice but is actually nasty.

We understand how deeply upsetting it must be for you to have lost your beloved pet and we want to express our heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time.
On 3/19, we saw **** for a routine annual visit. Following the diagnosis of an ear infection during the visit, we initiated treatment with medication in-hospital, and prescribed ear cream. At this annual exam, we were not informed of any other symptoms that would have required more testing, diagnosis, or contraindication to treat the ear infection with standard protocols. Upon learning on 3/20 that **** was vomiting, we advised a gentle diet, rest, and close monitoring, while also recommending emergency care if you had further concerns. When you brought **** back into the office 3/22 due to continued vomiting and loss of appetite, we ran blood work and x-rays, which suggested potential diabetes and gastroenteritis. We recommended hospitalization so that **** could be properly treated and stabilized. As you expressed apprehension and declined the recommended hospitalization, we sent you and **** home with an adjusted treatment plan to help manage her elevated glucose levels. On 3/25, when you brought **** into the hospital, her condition had deteriorated further, and she was then diagnosed with Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Given the severity of Lunas condition, we recommended hospitalization and intensive care. Managing Diabetes Ketoacidosis requires constant monitoring and specialized treatment, including regular insulin administration and frequent checks of blood sugar levels. We wanted to ensure **** received the dedicated attention and care she needed during this challenging time. You declined hospitalization, and took **** home. We were heartbroken to learn of ***** passing on March 27, via social media. We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved pet, and wish we had been able to help her more.
