Back in October of 2021 Brevard Windows and Doors had installed two sets of patio impact turtle-tinted sliding doors. Upon installation it was noted that two of the panels in the sliders had defects with the turtle-tint. There were several spots where the tinting did not take. I was assured by the installers that they would make note of the defect and put in an order for replacement panels only. The supervisor Mark came by two days later, took pictures of the panels and again assured me that it was an easy job to replace the panels and that the lead time for the panels would be two to three months. At the end of December 2021 I started calling Brevard Windows and each time was told that the panels were on order. On March 4, after again being told the panels were on order, I sent an email to Brevard Windows and told them I was tired of waiting for the panels and since they were still delivering complete doors, I wanted new doors instead. Mid-March I called again and was told that they were meeting with their subcontractor and would pass on my request for new doors. At the end of March i called and was told that I now had an order number and they would be contacting me for delivery and installation of the panels. I receied a call the week of April 11 telling me the panels would most likely be delivered by Thursday the 21st of April. Today, April 21st, I called the company only to be told that again, the panels did not come in and they did not have a new estimated delivery date. It is now 7 months since original installation. It is imperative that this issue be resolved because we are approaching hurricane season and my building is undergoing an intensive restoration project which will make the balconies and sliding doors inaccessible. Since the panels won't be delivered, I am requesting replacement of the two doors with the tinting defects.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/05/11) */ In regards to complaint above. The doors are working per code for operation. The complainant is actually the second owner of the property. And to address comment made on the claim that we were working with a sub contractor to fix the problem is incorrect as we are dealing with a manufacturer who deals with a glass manufacturer for new glass. She was not the original purchaser of the product. We installed the sliding glass doors properly as there is a blemish in the glass which does not effect the integrity of the product. We are working with the manufacturer to get replacement of the glass. They had rejected the last shipment from the glass supplier. We will rectify the glass product that has a blemish as soon as we receive the glass from supplier. As everyone should know the climate of manufacturing and shipping is under extreme pressure. If we had the ability or had the glass we would rectify this immediately. This is an ongoing issue in the industry right now. Again to recap soon as we have the glass we will set up a time to swap the panels that have a blemish and they currently are not compromised from performance with the way they are. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/05/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) What Brevard Window and Doors stated is correct, the previous owner of the property did order and pay for the doors, but they were installed while I was the owner of the property. I cannot find any mention in the paperwork given to me that states the warranty for the doors remain with the original owner. The charges for the doors include turtle tinting, and yes the doors work properly, but the tinting on two doors is defective. Is their remedy that it is okay, because the doors work and are up to code? I have been told several times that the manufacturer is not delivering the panels. Is Brevard Window still delivering doors that include turtle tinted panels? If so, that means the panels are being produced. Our building will be under going complete restoration beginning in June and it is imperative that I have the panels replaced before then as the balconies will be inaccessible during the restoration. They will not have access during the renovation, so I do not want to be notified that the panels are in and ready to be installed when they have been notified they will not have access at this time. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/05/13) */ The glass panels will be replaced when we receive them. Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2022/05/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I have been told this same response since December 2021. It is now five months later and they still have not received them.. if the company cannot get the panels in, but are receiving doors with panels, then replace the entire doors with new ones. Why is that not a solution?
