Caliber car wash ripped off my side view mirror and hood ornament. Refuses to pay for any repairs, stating that their policy is not to repair cars older then ten years. This was caused by their machine, as the car was in perfect condition, and all stock equipment. The car is a **** ******* Town car.Business response

Good afternoon, this vehicle is 26 years old. Which means that this vehicle has experienced 26 years of sunlight and oxidation. The car wash does not get to pick and choose which vehicles to damage. This vehicle was damaged due to oxidation from the sunlight which means that material items such as plastic will deteriorate over time causing them to become weaker under pressure. The car wash has vertical wraps that retract in to every vehicle using pressured shocks that clean your vehicle. If our car wash broke every mirror and every emblem off of the customers vehicles we would not be in business. Caliber Car Wash's claims department has a policy of automatic denial for vehicles older than 10 years old for these reasons. The only way for a vehicle to encounter damage in a car wash is if there is previous damage. Caliber Car Wash has denied this claim due to the vehicles age and previous damage. Clips for mirrors are plastic, which deteriorate over time. The emblem on the front of the vehicle is in place with glue, that also deteriorates over time. We hope that this provides some insight to why we have chosen not to cover this claim. If you have any further questions please contact us at ************.
Happy to help!

I am rejecting this response because: This car is rarely driven, has been restored, so the age is a mute point. Maybe the car wash should post signs saying they aren't responsible for damage done to classic cars. Legally they are liable for damage they cause unless agreed upon by both parties. If they fail to calibrate their machines, it's their fault. Seeing how I took this car to a comparable type car wash just a month before without damage.
Sincerely,
