We contracted with Dynamic Marine on 2/3/2022 to remove and rebuild 2 decks off the back of our house. The total estimate was $127,000 and we gave them. check for 25% at that time. The house sits on the marsh and is elevated so using a marine contractor made sense. The new lower deck required steel beams and one of the plusses of using Dynamic was that the owner's (****) father owns a steel fabricating company. We received all our county approvals in 8/22 and they demolished the existing decks in mid 9/22. At completion of demo they requested another 25% to order the steel. Since that time they have been to the project less than 18 hours, including moving some beams under the house, partially rebuilding the upstairs deck and cutting a pathway to under the house (which has since regrown). When they worked on the upstairs deck they removed some of the siding and were going to come back to replace the flashing, vapor barrier and siding and then complete the upper deck. They never came back and now we have exposed wood that we will need to hire someone else to replace and then finish both the decks. I have a record of all the emails and texts and phone calls that I have sent over the past 10 months that have either gone unanswered or were answered, but with no followup action by the company. Now they don't even bother to respond to anything I send. The last I heard was in June from his wife that **** is in the hospital with stress issues and his brother was going to fill in and they would contact me the following day. Never heard from them. Again I reached out repeatedly and heard nothing. I am attaching photos so you can see the status we've dealt with for the past 10 months. You are our last resort. The next step is to hire an attorney and sue them for the funds we have paid and the emotional stress we have dealt with. We believe the only reasonable solution is for the company to refund us $50,000 and they can keep the remainder for work done to date.
