    Pattern of Complaint:

    BBB files show a pattern of failure to respond to consumer complaints presented to the company and failure to eliminate the basic cause of consumer complaints.

    Specifically, consumer complaints regarding Duval Paving, LLC allege that the company failed to perform work as contracted, work was not done to consumer satisfaction and the business had poor workmanship. The company also failed to communicate with consumers when they contacted them regarding warranty issues. Complaints also state that the company requests payment be made directly to business employees rather than paying the business entity. 

    On October 12, 2018, BBB sent correspondence to Duval Paving, LLC requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving complaints on file with BBB and providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints. As of October 29, 2018 Duval Paving, LLC has not responded to BBB's correspondence.

      BBB unable to locate business
      Received an estimate from Duval Paving LLC on 11/12/21 for $19,628.00 to have Asphalt Patching of Approx. 6600 sqft with tack coat and overlay 2" thick in our. Paid a $6,477.24 deposit which was 1/3 of the total on 11/16/21 by check which the company picked up the same day. We reached out to them every month from November to March and every time they provided a large window appt. ( ex. end of the week, mid next week, etc.) they failed to show up every time. They never called or emailed us and we'd have to get back in touch with them again which they failed again to show up. We were given excuses about weather, other jobs holding them up, employee issue, product, etc. To date they have never shown up. Our last correspondence with them was a request for a refund since the unsigned estimate don't state non-refundable. I mailed a letter to Duval Paving which come back return to sender. Checked sunbiz and this company is inactive in the state of Florida and was inactive when conducting business as Duval Paving LLC. The owner / agent has since opened another paving company. The company's website is off line as well. Please note the attached estimate shows Fox which should read FMX with our address.

      I contacted Duval Paving via phone on Nov 8, 2021 regarding asphalt millings for our driveway. **** spoke with me and then emailed me an estimate using aerial maps. He came out the same day to look at the site. I signed a contract and gave a $3630 deposit using check #**** that was cashed the same day. I was told work would begin in 7-9 business days. I emailed on Nov 23 after not being able to get through on the phone lines. **** phoned me and said it would be a week or two. I again had difficulty with the phone lines, so I emailed on Jan 5, 2022 requesting my deposit back. **** phoned and I was assured that the work would be done next week. **** called me on Jan 6 to assure me again. I heard nothing until I emailed and texted on January 18 requesting my deposit back. **** texted and said it would be sent out. He texted on Fri, Jan 21 11:44 AM: "Refund was mailed out today certified check" By Feb 2 I still had not received a check. I texted and received no reply. I texted again on Feb 8 telling him that I would be filing a complaint with the BBB and FL Attorney General that week. He replied that he would have someone bring a check by in person. Today is Feb 16 and I have not heard anything yet. I feel I have been patient. I understand that there are supply issues in many industries, however, I was never told there was a supply issue. Communication was poor at best, and I lost confidence that Duval Paving would fulfill the contract, despite repeated assurances the work would be done "next week." I would be content with a refund of my $3630 deposit.

      I had my driveway installed in the middle of April. The day after installation, I mentioned that the lines weren’t straight. They informed me that I have a lifetime warranty and that someone would be out that week to cut the edges. No one ever showed. They also left their pile of dirt from installation in my yard. Within that week, we noticed grass growing through the driveway in numerous areas. They apparently never put down a grass protectant under the driveway. It is now the end of September and they have still never been out to repair it. The pile of dirt was placed against our side gate and it rotted it, so we had to remove the gate because of this. We still need our edges straightened, the grass killed, patches filled, sealed, and the pile of dirt removed. We have tried contacting every worker at the business multiple times daily since April with no success. They’ve scheduled with me 3 times and no showed to all of them. I want my money back or for them to come do the repairs.

      Duval Paving LLC quoted and provided approximately 4500 sqft of chip & tar driveway. Price quoted was $6800.00 with a $2260.50 deposit. Job was promised in 2 weeks. **** was happy to cash the deposit check, even sent an employee over to hijack the check from my mail box on 5/27/21. After 4 weeks of no contact I had to threaten the Florida BBB via Email before he returned my call. Job was completed 1 week later on 7/2/21. Per the quoted contract labor and materials are warranted for 2 years. I texted **** on 7/16 of damage to an low lying area of the drive, quote specified all said areas were to be filled. Damage is ether due to lack of proper fill or the faulty equipment used to distribute the tar, workers spent most of the day here repairing it. Surprisingly **** called me the same day stating he would make the repair next week which should have been the week starting on 7/19. Still waiting for the repair. No contact from **** now.
