I was introduced to MCM Builders through a general contactor, *** *****. The MCM representative that visited my home was **** ******. *** ***** and ***** ******, ********** ***** ***********" visited my home and was later hired on 2-21-19 to remove an existing wall in the kitchen and install a header beam. In 2022/2023 I began noticing the crown molding that wrapped the beam was detaching from the ceiling. In June 2023 I contacted ******* ***** to advise there was an issue with the beam. Additional follow ups were completed to *** ***** on 6-13-23, 6-15-23, 7-2-23, and 8-1-23. In addition to follow up with *** *****, 4 independent contractors inspected the beam. All independent contractors agreed the beam was failing and I was advised to get a supporting pole for my safety. On 8-2-23 ***** ************ agreed to inspect. 8-7-23 ***** ************ inspected the beam and advised they would return once the engineers report was received. 8-29-23 the engineers report was provided to ***** ***********". 9-1-23 ***** ************ requested I pull permit. I disagreed and sent a text message with *** ***** about my concern with pulling a permit. 9-1-23 I completed conference call with "*** ***********" and ***** ************ agreed to pull permit. I followed up with *** ***** on 9-4-23, 9-5-23, 9-6-23 to get a status for proceeding. No response was received. On 9-8-23, at my request, the engineer returned to my home to reinspect the beam that was not exposed because I removed some of the sheet rock. The engineer confirmed the accuracy of his report and further urged me to complete the repair as the beam behind the sheetrock has rotted; the beam is unstable. I am trying to pursue non-legal measures to reach a reasonable settlement. I have no confidence in ***** ************ based on the lack of response and the feedback received from the engineer and other contractors about work. I wish to be refunded for the work completed and the cost of the engineers report.
