I contacted Will’s Maintenance for concrete work. Twice the owner, **** *****, told me he was going to start, but didn’t show up or even bother to call to tell me he wasn’t going to make it. Afraid he was going to continue telling me he would come and not show up, I asked him to cancel and refund the $1500 he asked for upfront for prep materials. He eventually agreed. It’s now 66 days since I requested my refund and still haven’t received. Each time we’ve been in contact, it’s because I had to reach out to him. In his immediate response after I asked for the refund, he said he still had to order the concrete. Two minutes later he said he ordered it for next week. I do not understand why he would have ordered it right after I asked him to cancel. I feel he’s not being honest, is giving me the run-around, and am afraid I won’t get my money back. Can you please help me resolve this? Most of our communication was through text (screenshots attached). Timeline of events: 12/02/21 – **** came to look at the area 12/04/21 – **** came back with his son, as he needed his son to confirm the quote of $2800. Provided $1500 check for prep materials. He verbally told me he would start on 12/14. 12/10/21 – Advised **** I wanted to do a smaller area than I originally requested. He confirmed he would start the following week (week of 12/12) 12/16/21 – It’s now Thursday of the following week and he hasn’t shown up or called, so I reached out. He said he would be here Saturday 12/18/21 – Now Saturday, and again **** didn’t show or call. 12/20/21 – Still haven’t heard from him, so I asked him to cancel and refund the $1500. He agreed he would. 12/24/21 & 12/28/21 – **** said he was waiting on the concrete company to refund the money 01/11/22 – **** said the concrete company said it would take another 2-3 weeks to process the refund 02/01/22 & 02/07/22 – **** said he’s still waiting to receive
