Charlie Tolbert showed up at my door selling meat. I was reluctant to buy anything but he eventually convinced me and I agreed to buy some meat in the amount of ******* via venmo. He did not specify my rights to cancel or give me a contract. Upon taking a better look at the quality of the meat, I decided I wanted to cancel my order. I looked up my rights and saw the * day ftc cool down rule. I immediately texted charlie ** minutes after he left with my intention to cancel and for him to come pick up the meat and he called me and said he was already going home but would send me *** back and asked that I try two of the steaks for my wife and I and if I did not like them he would come pick them up next week and refund my money. I agreed and cooked them that night and they were not good. I then texted him and told him that i still wished to cancel for a refund as I did not like the steaks and he said he would come get them next week. He showed up on Thursday, Feb ***** to pick up the meat. I gave him the meat and he gave me **** cash and said that was all he could give me because the goods were not in the original state since I had cooked two of them. I told him that I would not have even tried them had he not told me to, as I requested to cancel before even trying them and his response was insistent that I try the meat first and that he would refund me if I did not like them. He gave me the **** and left and I texted him to voice my displeasure that he did not refund me fully. He called me and said he did not even have to refund me at all and that I was lucky to even get my **** back. I am still out $*** because of his refusal to refund me the rest of my money. He did not provide a contract or right of cancellation and the FTC states that I can cancel within * days for no questions asked. I would not have tried any of the steaks without him being insistent and telling me that he would refund me if I did not like them. I am seeking the remaining $*** he owes me.
