    On Saturday, Jan 28, 2023 I purchased a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder from Butler Toyota. I put $1000 down and left that day with the vehicle. On Sunday, Feb 5, 2023, I was driving the Pathfinder when another vehicle darted out in front of me and I was unable to stop. The other driver was cited at the scene. I was able to drive my vehicle home, however within a few days it was in the repair shop getting fixed. This was when I learned that the car was not even in my name and the sale was not complete. Mar 7th is when I was contacted that the Pathfinder was fixed and I went and picked it up. On Mar 9th, I received a certified letter from Butler Toyota stating that they were reserving the right to cancel the transaction between us and that I had 48 hrs to return the vehicle and I would receive my down payment deposit. It was at this time I realized the temporary tags had expired so I contacted Butler Toyota that I did not feel safe to drive the vehicle with expired tags and they indicated they would come and get it. At no point did they mention that they would keep any portion of my down payment deposit for any towing fees when they came to get the vehicle. Between the time I left with the vehicle until after Butler Toyota had regained possession of the vehicle, I was completely harrassed about income verification and other documentation that I had given them repeatedly. So approx on Mar 23rd, when I had not received any communication from Butler Toyota regarding my down payment deposit, all of the paperwork that was signed and documentation that I had submitted for the loan, I contacted them to inquire about my refund. At this point, I was transferred around the business from sales, to finance, to mgmt, etc. and could not get resolution. I went to Butler Toyota and the people who I spoke with where not honest with who they were, nor did I receive any business card from any of them; I was told that they were only willing to refund me $500 of my $1000 deposit because they had to tow the Pathfinder. They indicated it was a repossession and that it was a damaged vehicle and that $500 is all they were willing to give me. During the discussion, another person came and got the man I was speaking with from the room and they both left and said, "have a good day". There was no resolution and to this day I have not heard from Butler Toyota or received any of my down payment or received any of the documents that I was promised. I am attaching the letter in which I received from Butler Toyota with this complaint. Anything the BBB can do to help bring closure to this situation would be greatly appreciated.     Coercive ****************** taking advantage of a young man and allowing a non purchaser in the room through finance meeting. The Non-Purchase just so happens to be a family relative to an employee who works at the dealership. The ** and ************ charged twice as much to get a trade in returned on an impulse buy. The non-purchaser pressure tactics along with the Finance Rep. did not allow the buyer's family member to be included in the meeting. The non-purchaser returned to obtain a 'finder's fee or referral fee' ironically the very same day that the buyer was taking back the new car. The Salesman who assisted the buyer felt bad and was transparent to the buyer, however the manipulation and high pressure occurred in the Finance Room. The purchase was made Jan. 17, **** after 4:30PM and the ** said on Jan.18th that the transaction had funded the night prior. The purchase agreement states that a buyer can return the vehicle w/in 30 days. There are several signs posted throughout the dealership that a buyer can return a vehicle anytime. The dealership did not provide a Funding Number or Receipt and in fact returned the trade-in to the buyer but charged him 3 times as much then the pay-off originally was. The Finance Person disputed the claim of fraudulent and misleading sales tactics and stormed out stating the buyer can contact his attorney. The ** stated there was nothing he could do and it was "just business." The new car payment was $200-300 more then Disclosed and they added on ******************* and Warranty costs. When the buyer asked to remove those items, he was told they could not or if they did, his payment would NOT be REDUCED. The sales contract was taken to another competing ************ and they confirmed that those items can be removed and were optional. RUN AND DO NOT WALK FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP!
