In June/July Trad's Pest Control technician threw Pesticide around the outside of my house. While doing this, the threw the pesticide into my boxwood hedges and roses, which killed them. This happened before with a technician by the name of ***, and he acknowledged it, and stopped, but however, he moved, and was replaced by a new technician who did not know the impact the pesticide has on Boxwood Hedges and Roses. Impact to the following: 1.) Home Depot (10) Better Boxwood Hedges 2 Gal. Skylight Boxwood Shrub $38.98 each = 389.80 2.) Home Depot (2) Knock Out 2 Gal. Red Double Knock Out Rose Bush with Red Flowers $39.61 each = 79.22 Total = 469.02 Trad's came out and said the the plants died due to a fungus and insect issue on the Boxwood Hedges and Roses. These plants were healthy and green prior to the technician throwing down pesticide alongside of the home. Trad's continues to tell me that this is a fungus and insect issue, and I totally disagree. I am asking Trad's Pest Control to reimburse me for 469.02 or make an adjustment to my account with them. Attached documents and photos is what I sent to them.

Photos attached of my plants that Trads ruined.  I have a security camera also capturing the Trad's technician throwing pesticide toward the house and spilling the pesticide onto my boxwood hedges and roses killing them.  Previous technician by the name of ***, said he was aware of how the pesticide and avoided the plants, but this new technician was not aware.  Yes, the plants are old, but the were absolutely OK and green prior to the day the Trad's technician spilled the pesticide onto my plants.

We are so sorry *** ********* felt he had to take this step with the BBB. This is defiantly not what we want. *** ********* has issues with insects and fungus on his shrubs, we have attempted to help and have attempted to communicate with him.
      Attached please find:
******* Extension report from the site visit of 8/13/24
      Email from ******* regarding roses
Pictures from site visit of 8/13/2024
Images from laboratory analysis, boxwood showing thrips, stem canker, conidia (fungus disease)
Image of Rose bushes showing evidence of mites, thrips and leaf spot (fungus  disease) .
Clip from chemical label of product used, 6/17/2024

According to our records, we received a call on July 12, 2024 from *** ********* about his shrubs. *** ********* reported five boxwood, and a rose bush had died from our exterior treatment of 6/17/2024.
Our Service Manager, ****** ******, returned the call the same day and set up a meeting with *** ********* for  7/18/24. At that meeting, ****** explained to *** ********* that our products are meant to be used in landscape beds and the damage he saw looked environmental.
*** ********* expressed that he felt the issues with his shrubs were caused by our products. Because there were no signs of chemical damage, we called ******* Extension for a site visit to help us understand what was happening with the boxwoods and the rose bush. Please note that ******* is independent and not affiliated with Trad’s Pest Control. The Extension Agents are adjuncts to the University of *******. The role of Extension is to provide scientific, evidence-based information and education to the community.
The ******* Commercial Extension Agent, ****** **********, made a site visit to *** *********’s home on 08/13/204. At that time, it was noted that “cankers and fruiting bodies of a fungus were observed on the stem and leaves” of the boxwood. And that “evidence of mite and thrip activity from stippling present. Leaf spots, curled leaves and tip necrosis present” on the rose bush.
      Extension also noted:
The products used by Trad’s are labeled for shrub beds
There was no evidence of phytotoxicity (chemical damage)
The boxwood are original to the house, or approximately 50 years old
Pruning equipment is not being sanitized to prevent the spread of fungal disease
Extension took samples for laboratory evaluation and the report is attached.  The laboratory work confirms the decline is due to fungus and thrips on the boxwood and thrips and mites on the roses. We sent the reports to *** *********.
It is clear, and the reports detail, that the damage to the shrubs is due to a combination of fungus and insects.
We are a small, locally owned business. We work very hard to make our customers happy and to deliver top-notch service. We care about our customers, and we care about *** ********* as well.
On Friday, 8/16/24, before *** ********* contacted BBB, we sent him an email in which we asked him to call us to discuss this with us further, which he declined to do. We are happy to give *** ********* a $150 gift card to ******* ********* for the original five boxwood and two roses.  Three gallon boxwood at ******* ********* are $16.99, while roses are $12.99 to $24.99. We are willing to do this to make *** ******** happy. Given that that there is nothing demonstrating that Trad’s products caused damage, we consider this generous and is therefore the only offer we will make or entertain.
