On 12/17/2023 I had a large tree limb fall and puncture a hole in my roof. After filing a claim with ***** ****, I was given permission to hire a roofing contractor to come tarp over the hole until repairs could be done. On 12/18/2023, I contacted SPC Roofers and spoke to ***** ******* who then came out to my property to inspect the damage. ***** was unable to get to the damaged portion of the roof to inspect stating he did not have the proper shoes. On 12/27/2023, SPC Roofers sent out a crew, apparently unsupervised, who not only patched the hole, but to the entire left side of the front facing roof and excessively securing the tarp to the rood with roofing nails spaced very closely around the entire perimeter of the tarp. I then tried to call ***** ******* but was unable to get through, so I sent him a text stating "Is it necessary to tarp the entire roof? How much is it going to cost?" ***** responded: "I told him "the crew" exactly what where the hole was, not sure why they're doing that. I'll give him a call" ***** **** sent an adjuster out to inspect the roof. The adjuster wrote in his report, "Lastly and as we discussed, the tarp installation completed by SBC Roofers extended far beyond the small area of damage caused by the fallen pine tree limb. As such, any cost or damage related to the initial tarp installation extending beyond that which was installed by **** of SBC Roofers earlier today would be your responsibility." ***** quoted $1685 to make repairs, but never showed or called. I then called ***** *******, * * * ******* ***,, to come and give me an estimate as we are going on the three months with a tarped rood. After inspecting, ***** said the roof was irreparable due to all of the roofing nails surrounding the tarp that SBC roofer installed. ***** ******* stated he would not be able to acquire a permit for the portion of the roof damaged from the tarp installation and that the entire roof would need to be done. Now I must hire an attorney.Customer response

As a follow up to my previous complaint, SPC Roofers followed through and completed all of the necessary repairs to my complete satisfaction as well as that of the Historic District's specifications. Apparently there was miscommunication due to a serious injury to the original SPC representative that I had been working with which caused the exceptionally long delay in repairs.
The repairs were completed under the direct supervision of an on-site manager to ensure the damages caused from the improper installation of the tarp were repaired properly. SPC went a step above and made some additional repairs that they were not responsible for which was an additional benefit, at no charge. I am very happy with the follow up.
