Hired to replace septic tank system. Every single day he would say he was coming to do the job and then cancel a couple of hours later. Had a different excuse everytime. This went on for 2 weeks. Then he came and started working, broke my electrical wiring to my shed after I told him exactly where it was, his pump trailer shot oil all over the side of my house. He broke my water line 2 hours into the job and then said he would be back in an hour to fix it. Left and then didn't come back that day. Had to hire someone else to fix my water line. Then as he was leaving the next day, he backed his truck into the housing for my water pump. After another week of him lying everyday saying he was coming to finish the job, i had to call and threaten to have his stuff removed from my yard until he finally showed up. Finished the job last week but left garbage from the previous septic tank all over my yard. Had to hire a junk removal company to come clean it up because he never came back to clean it. 1 week after him finishing the job, the septic started flooding raw sewage into my yard. I called ***** and all he had to say was that he'll be by tomorrow to take a look. Since it was an emergency and flooding our yard, we couldn't wait until tomorrow. We hired another septic company who came out noticed that All State Septic used the wrong fitting and didn't even put any pvc glue on it so my tank was emptying into the yard instead of my drain field. They also noticed he never wired up the high float which is supposed to sound an alarm when the tank is backed up. Worst experience of my life.

We only do septic, not electric, or landscape. He's has a one year warranty on the system. Over all we did a great job. Apparently the system is working because he hasn't called. We will stand behind our warranty.

       Complaint: 20113644

I am rejecting this response because:

When my yard was flooding with raw sewage after they completed the job, he refused tk come out so being that it was an emergency, I had to hire another company that came out and found that ALL STATE SEPTIC didn't even properly secure the pipes going to the drain field which is why they fell apart and flooded my yard. This is a screenshot of the owner telling me that my warranty is voided since I called another company after he refused to come out.

Meanwhile, his response to the BBB complaint says he will honor the warranty. He's just saying that. Also, the only reason I haven't called him since he left is not because they did a decent job, its because he's refused to come out when I have called him and I had to pay thousands of dollars to get everything fixed that he didn't do correctly.

We were seeking a new Septic service from Allstate Septic in early November along with other companies for our property at **** ******* **** *** ***** . Allstate Septic provided us an estimate of $16,000 and after getting other estimates we decided Allstate was the best estimate along with having talked with them for additional services in the future. This service needed to buy a Septic tank so we typically provide 1/2 of amount to start new Septic. On November 8th 2022 I met owner and met him and provided him a check for $8000 at Jacksonville fairground with the expectation he would begin as soon as he received the new tank. From that point we (my daughter and I) were in Communication with him for now 3 months with comments to delay starting for different reasons. We ar needing the new Septic service as our house is needing it to move forward. We either want the new Septic tank and drain field completed or our $8000 money back. The company has stopped responding to us so this needs to be reported. We will look into additional legal actions as well to get our money back. This can be resolved just by doing the right thing.

And I responded that were doing the job. The new construction permit is 18 months to do the job.

I sighed the contract with ***** ** ****** ***** ******** on 7/1/22. He is the owner for the company, All State Septic Inc. I gave him half of the money stated to complete the job ($7,000.00) on 7/14/22. He said he would complete the job in 2 to 3 weeks. He brought his digger truck on 8/24/22 and left it parked in my front yar** At this point, I would like him to return the down payment and pick up his truck.

In October 2021 I hired All State Septic to install a complete $15,000 septic system. They didn't glue the pipes between the house and the septic tank and they leaked sewage underground and are now allowing tree roots to grow into the separated pipes. They now tell me that it is not their problem because they are not plumbers or tree guys. Their poor workmanship is causing a failure of my system. I will now have to hire a plumber to dig up my yard and fix the unglued pipes.

Pursuant To Florida Statute 64-6E All State Septic Inc is only responsible from the front of the tank to the end of the drain field. All inspections have passed the regulations in the Florida Statute mentioned. We also voided ** ******* Warranty due to the fact that his dogs dug holes by his tanks and in the top of his new drain field system that we installed. We do not glue low pressure lines if we do hook up the inlet pipe as a courtesy because that is considered plumbing. If ** ******* has roots in his pipe he needs to call a tree specialist and have the tree removed. It is not OUR responsibility to remove his tree.

We got an engineered drain field installed by All State Septic Inc between August 2nd and August 10th where we paid a total of $9000 in two installments. The Florida Department of Health came by on October 11th and said that because no permit was pulled, we would have to pay the permit fee of $625 and then hire another licensed contractor to inspect and complete the work to state standards. The new contractor said that the septic system that they installed will not function properly in general nor to state standards and was set up incorrectly, so we are having to pay for them to dig it up and redo it. The cost for removing the current septic system and installing one that works properly is $12,800. I asked All State what they planned to do to rectify this situation and they replied with: “You mean you didn't pull a permit. It's the homeowners responsibility...We did exactly what you wanted. You shouldn't be mad at us. You should find out who told on you and be mad at them.” Indicating that they had no plans to do anything about not performing the work that we outlined in the contract between myself and them. The law states that licensed contractors are not allowed to do work without ensuring there are proper permits, therefore All State should have pulled the permits for the work they were doing on my property seeing as they were licensed. All State should come out and fix the drain field so it functions properly, as I have now paid the permit fee retroactively for their work. At the very least, they should pay us back the money that we gave them for the work that they did not perform in the amount of $9000.

All State Septic was hired by the client to add a pump tank and drain field as a subcontractor. Not the contractor.  **** does not own the property. His father owns the property and should file any complaints. However, the system has been working just fine. We have not received any phone calls stating anything different. And the fact that his father is the home owner has a warranty for one year on all parts and labor. If there is a problem with the system, All State Septic Inc. will fix it for free. We are not responsible for him or his father getting a permit or moving the system. We are only responsible for what we installed that is working properly. We installed it exactly the way that his father wanted it and we have not had any complaints by no one as to it not working properly. We only warranty our work.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

As you know, my preferred method of contact is email. You have my email. I have already retroactively pulled a permit. The problem is not the permit, it is that the septic field is not up to code and therefore it will not pass an inspection. Do you feel that it will pass an inspection? The new contractor says that the field and excessive amount of dirt that you ordered should never have been installed over the septic tank, especially the two access points to it, nor should it have been installed over the pump tank. In order for the drain field to pass inspection, it needs to be moved. For all those reasons, your offer to pull the permit for me is useless. Given that this layout was done by you, the contractor, you should follow your own warranty description and take care of the problem that you created with your work. Since I have already pulled the permit, the work that has yet to be done on your end is the warrantied work which includes the placement of the field, which we already paid you for. If you still refuse to carry out our contract, I deserve a refund in the amount that it will take me to fix your shortcomings, which is $12,800, but I will settle for a refund in the amount of our contract which is $9000.

      Regards,

Again, you have a one-year warranty on all parts and labor. All you have to do is call us. When you bought the system, you called constantly, and stated very clearly that you didn't want to pull the permit for your job. However, we will stand behind our work.  And yes, we put tanks in the Drain fields and they pass all inspections. It's perfectly Legal. All you have to do is call. We do not give refunds for work completed. But we will warranty our work.

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, all state septic replaced drain pipes on our septic system. We were quoted an estimate of $5000. Later we were told that they have to replace the box at an additional cost of $500. We were actually charged $3500 for the box and when I asked for an itemized statement showing how much sales tax we were paying, my request was ignored. At the end of the day we were told that they didn't have any grass seed or straw but that they would be back on Monday to complete the job. This was included in the estimate that we were originally given. They didn't come back to complete the work; they won't answer the phone; the won't return my calls. I want a refund to compensate for my husband's work on finishing the job as well as the cost of the seed and straw. I want to know where he purchased the box and exactly how much it cost and how much sales tax was charged (for my income tax return).

The original quote of $5,000 was to install a drainfield. The homeowners decided to add on a new septic tank as well. They were quoted a cost of an additional $3,500 for a 1060 gallon tank to be installed with an addition $1,000 for more sand to build the drainfield higher. The updated invoice was sent on July !7 via email to Mr ******  While we had not been able to go out to seed and hay immediately, we had every intention of doing so, however our office was in the midst of an emergency situation and were unable to accommodate the original timeline. Mr and Mrs ***** never called the office to voice complaints and instead called a workers phone that unfortunately was not turned on until wednesday July 21. Nor did they reach out via email which is on the invoice. This company does not charge the customer sales tax as we are not selling items but a service.  If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us. Thank you

System is still under warranty and they will not respond to my pleas. This issue has occurred many times over the last 8 months and I have called the owner to advise. I have spoken to ***** ******, Owner, one time where he specifically told me he would come out on Sunday, July 4, 2021 between 9am and 10am. He didn't call nor did he come. We can't flush or take showers. My husband has Parkinson's Disease and cannot take care of his personal hygiene himself. We can go next door to my cousin's house to take showers but, this is a tremendous issue with my husband's health. It has rained so much over the last month only making matters worse. Our yard is flooded along with the septic failing.

Customer chose to save money and have a drainfield installed in ground. She was informed that her property was very wet and a mound system would perform better. She still wanted the cheaper option. Unless she is willing to install a permitted mound system there is nothing to be done to fix the system.

      Thank you

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The Company, All State Septic, disagreed with my complaint and the BBB simply took that and took no further action.  The statement they provided, “the owner is old enough to know they needed a permit” was not only incorrect, it was insulting!  I advised the owner at the time of the estimation that I felt a permit was needed and that a raised drain field should be required.  He stated to me that he didn’t need a permit and that since there had been no raised drain field in the past there should not be one now.

I have now checked with other septic companies and they have provided the statement that all contractors are responsible for their permits.

This is a travesty at best and this company should be held responsible for at a very least, half of the $11,000+ that we must now spend to have a new septic system installed due to All State’s incompetency and very poor business ethics.

I am going to do everything in my power to see that no one that I know or any other person in St. Johns County Florida ever gets taken from this company again!

      Regards,

We will not do anything until she obtains a permit. It is not our responsibility to get her permit. The permits always goes in the home owners name or general contractor or realty company. Not septic company. We can pull it for her for $1200.00. If not she needs to get someone else to pull.
