Additional Information for Best Price Water Systems of Florida, LLC

In December 2023, BBB contacted the business regarding claims in its advertising.

Its website, Facebook page, and Google page include the statement "Our newly opened Jacksonville, Florida office, Best Price Water Systems of Florida, LLC, provides all American-made, top-of-the-line 21st century technology and National Sanitation Foundation Certification Media to manage hard water and eliminate chemicals in your home's water throughout the entire state of Florida." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, “American made” and similar terms used to describe the origin of a product must be truthful and substantiated.  An advertiser must not express or imply that a product or product line is exclusively made in America unless all or virtually all of the product is made in America. All significant parts and processing that go into the product must be of American origin. The product should contain no — or negligible — foreign content.  The business did not substantiate or modify the claims.

Its advertising on multiple online sites claims certification or affiliation with National Sanitation Foundation Certification Media, Arizona Registrar of Contractors, International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials, and Water Quality Association.  The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. The business did not provide proof of current affiliation with these organizations. 

Its website states that it offers a "15-year transferable warranty on most of our systems" and a "30-Day Guarantee," according to its listing at yelp.com. Its Facebook page states "Our units are whole-home systems with no maintenance or filters to change and a warranty that is probably 5 to 10 years longer than any other unit you will look at from another company in Florida."  When using the term warranty or guarantee in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty or guarantee can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location or viewed on the advertiser’s website or include a basic disclaimer such as “call for details.”  BBB requested that the business either include the terms of the advertised guarantees and warranties, or a disclaimer so consumers understand that there may be terms and conditions.  The business did not provide proof that its company's warranty is "probably 5 to 10 years longer than any other unit you will look at from another company in Florida."

According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide any documentation that substantiates the following claims:
"Additionally, our units virtually eliminate all chemicals such as chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, and PFOAs, as well as bacteria, heavy metals, and smells, from your drinking water, bath water, and shower water."
"They remove nasty chemicals and heavy metals linked to cancers and other illnesses from drinking, bathing, and shower water, protecting your family's and home's health." 
"Buying bottles of water does not protect your skin and lungs from absorbing chlorine and other volatile organic chemicals, but their filters do." 
"No more dry skin and brittle hair."
"This innovative solution [Vortech Plates] guarantees improved water quality, better performance of appliances, and increased longevity of plumbing systems."
