Booked a room through Hotels.com for just under $65 total. Grace checked me in & gave me a total of nearly $100! She said they only use Expedia as a 3rd party. No other vacancy in the area & the next stop an hour away, we decided to stay & speak with the owner the next day. At that point we just wanted a hot shower and sleep. I asked Grace what time check out was and she stated 11am. I asked if we could get a late checkout, at 1pm. She said she didn't "think" it would be a problem (this was a standard response to several inquiries..."think"). She said the owner typically charges $25 for a checkout at 4-5pm & she "thought" they wouldn't even charge me if it was just 1pm. On the the room - probably the worst hotel we've ever seen. Aside from the bait & switch tactics they used on the room rate, my primary concerns were those that posed health risk - prior leak from upstairs left stains and black spots that may be MOLD; live roaches in the room, primarily in the bath area; dead bug inside the picture frame hanging above the bed; dirt & dust clinging to the walls and other areas. I reached out to Grace for WiFi info (she said she didn't "think" it was offered, websites all show Free WiFi), I voiced my concerns about the room & confirmed again the owner would be there the next day. I checked the office more than once in the morning and it was locked (websites say 24/7 front desk). We removed our belongings around noon and were reloading our trailer when Vijay showed up around 12:30. I asked if he'd honor the $65 rate & he bulked up his shoulders, started yelling at me & flailing his arms (fit of rage). He said he was going to charge me for a second day since I wasn't out at 10am. I told him about the room condition & he went to look. Again flailed his arms, yelled at me, & told me there were no issues, never was a leak & the "mold" is only dust. As a female 1/2 his size I felt threatened by Vijay and chose to leave then (I did call him a few choice names first).
