A Key West travel agent booked Authors Key West Guesthouse for me weeks ago. We were so excited to visit. At booking, they charged my card for the first nights stay. $246.38. The dates of stay was Sept 30 - Oct 3, 2022.I have not seen any policies of this business as everything was booked and handled through a travel agent.My flights were canceled due to Hurricane *** and the entire **************** was in a State of Emergency. They were not allowing people in. (I have documentation from the airline which is included) so the agent reached out to them and asked them to reschedule me for different dates and they refused. She emailed multiple times to no avail. After refusing to work with her on my behalf to reschedule for a later date, the travel agent emailed multiple times to document that the trip was canceled within their policy (per the travel agent) BUT they have charged my credit card for the entire stay even thought they KNEW it was canceled. (These emails are documented and can be forwarded if necessary) They have now charged my credit card an additional $481.51 for the remaining days even thought it was canceled within their policy by the travel agent.I, too have called and left voice mails and emailed multiple times the moment my flight was canceled. They didn't return any calls or reply to my emails. (This is also well documented and can be provided if necessary)I will also add that they had my room was listed as available to rent during this period of time (also documented) This entire situation has caused a great deal of frustration and unnecessary stress to this grandmother who just wanted to take her teenage granddaughter on a bucket list trip. I would like a complete refund in the total amount charged to my credit card in the amount of $727.89. Your prompt attention in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
