I notified anytime fitness via email that I would need to cancel my membership as I was moving and per the contract terms both verbally told to me and in writing, the manager **** indicated when I first signed up that the membership could be canceled at anytime if I moved greater than 15 miles away from club or any other club affiliated with them. I sent an email correspondence on February 1st 2023 as I was in the process of moving and could not get to club. From there, my membership was not canceled, and my bank account continued to be charged into May 2023. I canceled my bank automatic payments and informed my bank of what was occurring. My credit has now been reported in collections for well over $700.00 even after I informed the club of canceling due to moving. This is a breach in contract and false sense of membership terms which were told to me by the club manager. I have three children, was moving, my dog passed away in February and I am now trying to refinance my home with this derogatory ****** on my credit. My bank account continued to be charged without me stepping foot in the club after I communicated my cancelation request. Both the Anytime Fitness in ******** and *** financial as well as ************* and Collection have done nothing to remove this from my credit despite several requests. The amount of money they have charged to my account and are trying to additionally charge is a breach of contract.
