On July 21, 2023 I contacted Melvin (Mel Appliance Repair) in response to his Facebook Marketplace add for a ** Washer & Dryers set with pedestal & 30 warranty. His ad said that these were in excellent condition & ready to use. We agreed to $500 plus my existing washer & dryer in exchange for him to deliver & install these ** units. He delivered them that day as promised. After he left I washed a load of clothes, put them in the dryer & started another load. Once the 2nd load was complete, I checked the clothes in the dryer but they were cold & wet. I tried to contact Melvin through Facebook Messenger to no avail. I reviewed his FB Marketplace page and found a photo of his business card for Mel’s Appliance Repair. I called the number and Carlos M***** with a different company answered the phone. He knew Melvin and said he would reach out to him for me. He would not give me Melvin’s number or email address. After sending a couple more messages Melvin finally called me and told me he would be at my house the next morning (7/22/23) to repair the units. The next day he failed to show up nor contact me to reschedule. I tried to reach him several times to no avail. On Thursday 07/27/23 I reached out to him once again to let him know the washing machine was leaking water into the tub when not in use. Since I had not heard from him and clearly these units were not in the condition as advertised, I sent him a message asking him to be at my house Monday morning 07/31/23 to repair the units or refund my money. He finally responded that he would be here to repair them. Monday he failed to show once again. In the afternoon, I sent a request for him to come pick-up the units, return my old units & refund my money. If he had any intention of honoring his warranty, he would have already been to check them out in the 10 days that has elapsed. Clearly if he felt they could have been easily repaired he would have already done so.
