We are building out in front of our home. Our contractor hired a plumber, HYV inc, who refuses to send us an itemized bill for the job he did so far. He billed us last week for the entire project when he only did a third of it at best. He is claiming 3 people on site when one is an old man with health issues who is sitting all day and not working. During the excavation phase, the previous subcontractor broke the sewer connection pipe (that needed to be changed anyway since it needed a new connection to the new plumbing). The plumber replaced about 10-15ft and now claims he did 30ft and is charging $1000 for it (while it is absolutely not clear if it is not also charged in the regular work schedule since the pipe had to be changed anyway as I said above). The addition to our house is 400sqft on the ground, and most of the pipes run on half the surface as shown on the pictures (shower, double sink, toilet, not tub). For the sewer pipe replacement, he was already on site and should not charge twice for moving his 2-person crew (not 3). Because of the important billing he is asking us to pay, we want an itemized invoice, a description of the material used with price, the cost of labour per hour, and the cost of moving his crew on the invoice to clarify why he is asking for $8000 total (we have a story of about 300 sqft with one full bath - shower, sink, toilet, no tub - but the work for the upstairs plumbing has not begun so it should not be billed yet). Also we want to pay for only 2 people on site since only 2 were working. A 3-man crew is paid more because they can work faster than a 2-man crew. Here it is not the case, it's really a 2-man crew. The old man was sitting, not working. Thank you for helping us facilitate a resolution with this company.
