After engaging KSSG to be our General Contractor on 3 projects and after assurances that they could guide us through commercial processes (of which we had no prior experience) involving 2 commercial construction projects and one private residential, we would strongly recommend that you seek another company if you are remotely considering KSSG. BBB ratings are not a guarantee of a business's reliability or performance and that is particularly true for KSSG. We suffered (1) a total lack of reliability and repeated misrepresentations about activity that was occurring and that key supplies (freely available according to KSSG) had been purchased; (2) highly unprofessional activity (advising that it was fine to commence work without an issued permit, contrary to Florida law and exposing us to significant fines); (3) negligent workmanship (cutting a concrete floor and cutting a cable with no prior inspection for pipes or wires in a Publix-anchored Mall which could have opened up significant law suits); (4) incompetence (as they do not know how to proceed or what to do regarding the necessary approvals or City building department requirements); (5) poor workmanship (the framing alone was incorrect in two venues); and (6) Monica ****** holding herself out to be a GC when she is not - she relies on someone else's license). KSSG caused a very significant delay after they decided unilaterally simply to abandon all our projects while they went off to seek other business in and outside of Florida. If you select KSSG, do not be surprised if you are let down. We have now engaged a new GC and have made more progress in the last month than we did in 5 months with KSSG. Plus, we now have a great working relationship involving transparent and honest communications, genuine speedy activity, professional work and clear accountabilities and responsibilities. This is what a GC relationship should be like, as other professional parties working with us on our projects agree. No stars.

Clients contracted KSSG to perform specific tasks and expected KSSG to handle various out of scope duties at no additional cost. Additionally KSSG was contracted to do construction off of approved plans, not to be consultants and be part of a permitting process which they hired a third party to handle. Furthermore the plans were not approved and ready for 4 months so of course the new contractors walked into a project that was already started and now a breeze as plans are finally approved.

There were no out of scope duties at no additional cost and our private plan review and inspection third party (who were contractually engaged exactly to perform plan reviews and site inspections) directly informed KSSG that they were not responsible for obtaining the permits. For those who do understand commercial construction, it says a lot in itself that KSSG seems not to understand that it is the GCs role to pull them. We look forward to proving in both regulatory licensing and legal forums that KSSG engages in frequent fabrications, amongst other things, with the support of our professional third parties, as well as recovering substantial money owed to us.
